In theory, I agree that teams shouldn’t be penalized for playing in a title game, BUT Title games are assumed to be very close. If that assumption is false then you have to consider dinging them a little.

In other words, “we won’t ding the loser unless they give indisputable video evidence.”

Bama really struggled to put teams away this year.

This is why the committee flipped Alabama and Notre Dame last week. There was no reason Alabama should’ve moved ahead of Notre Dame after barely beating Auburn while ND blew out Stanford. But they did it in case Alabama lost to Georgia, they can “punish” Alabama by moving them back one spot, but still keep them in the playoff. My prediction is that ND will be 9, and Alabama 10. Miami is out.

That would be a crying gd shame

I think the committee has shown that they aren’t going to punish teams for playing a title game. No matter the score, if UGA wins they’ll be 1-1 against Bama with a home loss. Not sure how you can leave Bama out.

I know they say they won't punish the losers, but if they reward the winners then the losers will feel some of that.

If Indiana hols on to beat OSU, then IU should be #1. Is OSU "punished" if they drop to #2? What if they move OSU to #3 behind UGA...is that "punishment" for losing?

I dont know what they will do with BAMA, but whatever they decide can be justified.

Based on a series of convoluted tiebreakers. Nobody really thinks Alabama was the best team in the SEC. They’re 3rd or 4th best this year. Maybe worse.

It's a catch 22, you have 2 losses, but then lose again to arguably the best team in an extra game. Should that eliminate them? I'm not sure. Conference title games will eventually go away if this starts to happen.
