What happens if Boom doesn't get injured?

No doubt. Take the time off the clock. Score 31-38 points and they can't react. I think that was plan all along.

It very well might have been a different story, but getting smashed 31-0 in the second half doesn't happen from losing one guy. That's a total meltdown on every level from every segment of this team.

We still lose...just not by as much. Defense, or coaching adjustments, had no answer for # 8. Why no one didn't hit him, legally, on every play just to make sure he didn't have the ball and to let him know he was in a game is beyond me. That kid was barely touched on most plays.

Woulda been interesting to find out but unfortunately Boom is proving to be about as durable as Max Smith.

Not much, IMHO. Neither player mentioned lined up for the joke(r) of a defense that we put on the field.

A total lack of football fundamentals, both by the players and the coaching staff, was the key factor in this and several other losses this year.

A secondary factor: Play not to lose and guess what? You lose!!!

Hindsight is all 20-20. Did boom's and jojo's injuries prevent our defense from stopping Jackson or our receivers from dropping catchable passes? Or even better did it cause our coaches to become complacent and inept to letting a lead of 24-7 go away?

I've never seen such suckers on defense. They could have diagramed jacksons run before every play, on a board, made our guys read it, and he still would throttle them. You can hide stupid a little bit but you can't fix it.

We would have won. We have higher rated talent on both sides of the ball. It's about the Jim and Joes more than the X and Os. Stoops has better players but UL did everything they could to take them out of the fame.

Watching Jackson makes me want a duel threat guy at UK.

They are easy to recruit. They're everwhere. Jackson was awful as a passers-by but it didn't matter because we couldn't stop a freaking veer option.

Two words......Jalen. Whitlow.

The read option is easy to stop if the QB can't throw accurately (Lamar Jackson can't).......we just did an unbelievably bad job of adjusting to it.

Right, and you could tell by the angle of the dangle that he was just faking it anyway.

Probably shouldn't have been playing to start with, but he tried. How about not criticizing players you couldn't carry the jockstrap for, too much of that going on here.
Sorry, but Boom seems to always be injured.

Not to mention Jojo It's probably a different story.
When UK lost both Boom & JoJo, I had a bad feeling that the game was over... And it was. Those 2 guys are currently irreplaceable. I think that UK would've likely won if both could've stayed healthy.

King just isn't developed enough physically yet.

Horton seems to be really good with the ball out in space, but he's doesn't seem to do quite as well in tight quarters. He also catches the ball well & he weighs 220+, so I think that he needs to play more as an HBack/TE/FB/Slot. Him and Conrad could be a nasty 1-2 punch if used properly. I'd still let Horton run the ball occasionally, but I'd mostly try him out as a blocker and a pass catcher.

All of that said, Rose & Snell can't get to UK fast enough. They were needed yesterday.

Yeah I said the same when Boom left. Our offense just looks totally different if he's not playing, and losing Jojo just made it that much worse. Of course, in my wildest nightmare I wouldn't have thought 180 yards in the first quarter and then 18 yards total without him in the second half or whatever. And this team is so dysfunctional right now, so disconnected and in chaos, that maybe we lose anyway. But if those two play, you're very likely to get some first downs, shorten the game, give uofl fewer possessions, and hang on for the win.

Conjecture, I know. We had 160 yards in the first quarter with Boom - not conjecture, fact.......

Maybe with Boom and Jo Jo we could have used enough clock to hold on, but we will never know.

It still pisses me off that we let a guy that can't pass, hit two long bombs against us. They were terrible passes that at the very least, should have been knocked down if not intercepted.

With boom and JoJo we score at least 10 more points and maybe 13-14 more.

It keeps the D fresher and their O off the field while continuing to control time of possession.

The biggest coaching error other than not adjusting to a simple veer option attack was not at least trying Timmons or King in the backfield. We absolutely needed someone with some explosiveness to hit the edge as well as someone to split carries with Horton.

To me, Boom seems like a huge drama king... Pulling his helmet off as he left the field......just seems odd, and also.......his dancing teddy bear of a dad

We still lose. We lost at halftime when Petrino made adjustments and Stoops did not. Emit Smith in the backfield would not have mattered

Problem with that every other team adapts to duel threats, we don't.

What happens if Boom doesn't act like a ***** after the Mizzou game and make things more about himself, and Dad, than the team?
