What happens if Brian Bryant does a good job during Bost's absence?

Rhodes developed his mid-range jumper, why didn't SWAT?
You just disproved your own argument. Good job.
Not thatexpecting Jarvis to develop the same mid range game as Rhodes is sane, but Rhodes spent the summer working out with lawrence roberts in texas. My understanding was that he worked out at the same gym as a bunch of NBA and elite college players, where John Lucas would actually put people through drills. Don't know if that's true or not, justknow that Rhodes developedhis post moves over that summer, where ever he was and whoever he was working with.

Have we had anyone other than Roberts actually play a game in the NBA? And I wouldn't consider him as someone Stans developed since he transferred in as a Junior. I don't remember anyone else (although Austin probably had a chance) and don't have the time to research it right now.

I actually talked to John Lucas at the end of that summer. He told me that Rhodes would be "a beast" before he left MSU. I don't think Rhodes spent the whole summer there, though, and it was mostly playing pickup games with NBA players and aspiring players like Roberts and Rhodes.

I actually posted the stats on BDJ one day for most of the guards like Zimmerman, Bowers, Jamont Gordon, Stewartetc and showed that they really didnt improve much from their freshman year to their Senior year. their number increases usually correlated with their increase in minutes but the numbers were pretty much the same on a per minute basis. I didnt look at the big men but as far as point guards, there was really no improvement. A player would average 5 points, 2 assists their fresh year playing 10 minutes and would come back bext year and average 10 points, 4 assists playing 20 minutes. That's not improving.

Thanks lawdawg..
The fact is that Stans does not develop the offensive game of his players. Rhodes offensive game improved with better coaching from John Lucas and NBA players, not Stans.

Really for the most part any improvement that a player makes is due to the player working at it in the offseason. The coaches really are not allowed the time to work individually with the players.

Also, we just notice these things because they are our players. For example, didA.J Oglevieimprove drastically from his freshman year? How aboutPatrick Patterson? Courtney Fortson? Chris Warren? Any coach is going to have a limited impact on a player's skills if the player does not work at it.

cause for Rhodes's offensive improvement. If I remember correctly, that was between Rhodes's FR and SO years, and his playing time increased tremendously when Roberts was gone (SO year). So the improvement, if any, from his SO year to JR and SR years wouldn't really be attributable to the Houston time.

reason, logic, and common sense when talking to fishwater. One of these days, we'll learn that he's impervious to those things.

But we all know that reason, logic, and common sense have NO PLACE in a forum like this!</p>
