What has to happen in the lineup

Catcher- Its ok if Thigpen plays catcher, but only if Freeman is the designated hitter. Freeman is one of the few who has actually gotten a hit with runners in scoring position. <div>Infield- leave Norris at first. He has a long way to go, but I would still rather have him in there than Collins. At second, let Vickerson be the everyday starter. He hit around .330 last year, and even though his fielding is below average, he still needs to play. Ogden and Parks aren't going anywhere.</div><div>Outfield- have Brownlee and Bradford play regularly, and pick between Stark and Shepherd based on how they match up against opposing pitchers.</div><div>Pitchers- don't 17ing use Caleb Reed when we are up 8-1. We are going to need him for games that are close. If Jones and Stratton consistently have quality outings, there are a few pitchers than can finish off the game. If a pitcher gets taken out early like Statz did, our bullpen will get exposed. Evan Mitchell has to be ready to take over the third starting spot, because I doubt anyone else is up to it. Gravemen needs to pitch in the bullpen on weekends we play Swac teams, and not throw 7 innings against Alcorn State. When we play respectable weekend teams, I'm ok with him throwing as long as he can. The pitching staff will be a lot better if Bracewell can come back and pitch well, and some freshmen like Norris, Bradford, and Stark can contribute. When the previous three are pitching, thats a decent time for Collins to play in the outfield or at first. I am now done ranting. Blast away.</div>

The best news is we don't have anymore four games in one weekend anymore. That means no more Tim Statz period. Pitching Kendall Graveman for seven against Alcorn and then complaining about guys not getting enough work is ridiculous.

I am comfortable with the following pitchers:

Fri- Devin Jones
Sat- Chris Stratton
Sun.- Evan Mitchell or Kendall Graveman

Bullpen

Closer- Caleb Reed
Luis Pollerena
Daryl Norris- he needs to pitch more. I mean, he looked horrible blowing away the six or seven hitters he faced.
Taylor Stark- Ditto. He was the only one who got the job done tonight.

Jury still out- CT Bradford, Hunter Renfroe

Keep, but use in limited action- Andrew Busby

Put out to pasture- Tim Statz, Chad Girodo, and Victor Diaz.

FYI- I keep hearing that Ben Bracewell is going to redshirt. I'm also hearing that Nick Routt will probably be back pretty soon.

Busby, Girodo, and maybe even Statz shouldn't be bad options. Cohen just can't rely on them to start, and hopefully won't have to use them in too many close games. Another one where the jury is out is Watson since he has only had two outings. Hopefully I'm not thinking too highly of him, because I usually give drafted players the benefit of the doubt.
