Catcher- Its ok if Thigpen plays catcher, but only if Freeman is the designated hitter. Freeman is one of the few who has actually gotten a hit with runners in scoring position. <div>Infield- leave Norris at first. He has a long way to go, but I would still rather have him in there than Collins. At second, let Vickerson be the everyday starter. He hit around .330 last year, and even though his fielding is below average, he still needs to play. Ogden and Parks aren't going anywhere.</div><div>Outfield- have Brownlee and Bradford play regularly, and pick between Stark and Shepherd based on how they match up against opposing pitchers.</div><div>Pitchers- don't 17ing use Caleb Reed when we are up 8-1. We are going to need him for games that are close. If Jones and Stratton consistently have quality outings, there are a few pitchers than can finish off the game. If a pitcher gets taken out early like Statz did, our bullpen will get exposed. Evan Mitchell has to be ready to take over the third starting spot, because I doubt anyone else is up to it. Gravemen needs to pitch in the bullpen on weekends we play Swac teams, and not throw 7 innings against Alcorn State. When we play respectable weekend teams, I'm ok with him throwing as long as he can. The pitching staff will be a lot better if Bracewell can come back and pitch well, and some freshmen like Norris, Bradford, and Stark can contribute. When the previous three are pitching, thats a decent time for Collins to play in the outfield or at first. I am now done ranting. Blast away.</div>
