I have a close relationship with one of our best players and I have spoken with him several times recently. He told me Byrnes informed them that he was going to take his time to make sure he hires the right man to lead them and this player told me that from what he can gather it is not Tubby or Bowden. More along the lines of Peterson, Whittingham etc... Byrnes wants a young energetic coach in the mold of John Cohen who will come in and light this program on fire. With that being said Tubby is out. For one, he would have to forfeit his 6 million buyout and we cannot pay that and secondly I do not see us matching his salary at AU of 2.8 mill plus bonuses. Tubby doesnt have the passion and the "new style" of coaching that Byrnes and most of the rest of us want which is a high profile offense that is 2008 and not 1988 along with that passion and fire to compete for titles like Cohen.

From what I can gather, and I dont have the "sources" some of you like to act like you have, Im looking for a hire of Peterson, Whittingham or Kelly. And I dont look for it to come for a couple of weeks. Byrnes can now legally recruit and I think he is gonna make the right move for the program and not rush to get a guy like Tubby. Wait until after the bowls and we will have our coach around Christmas to New Years Day.

...but just because the plane went to Denver, doesn't mean Petersen, Whittingham, Kelly, Graham or Calhoun are going to also be there. The coaching search firm is in Boulder. The coach or coaches he is meeting could be from anywhere. I agree that it is NOT going to be Tuberville. I think it is going to be someone younger and creative on offense. I like Kevin Wilson because he is from a small town in North Carolina and would be a good personal fit for Starkville. He is also an experienced QB coach. I like Graham for similar reasons, he is from Texas and Oklahoma.

I never said my "source" told me the buyout stuff fuctard! I was going by what I had read on several forums. It was said it would come in 2 payments of 3 mil and 30 days apart. Also, supposedly it was to be paid if he was "fired" and if he "resigned" then IF he took another job the rest of what was unpaid in the buyout would be forfeited almost like the RichRod deal at WVU and with UM.

Other half in 1 one year (2.55M)

I tell you what then buddy. How bout you gimme me a call on my cell and I will call him on 3-way fuctard. I dont see my player as a "source" because he does not have the privy inside info just like the other guys. They are busy with school. He is not going to go around calling newspapers and coaches offices to get any info so I dont see him as an "inside" source. Only as a friend on the team who can give me some info but nothing concrete. I think he will know before any of us do but maybe only for a matter of hours. Some of you guys are really idiots.

And you may very well be correct sir. I was just going by what I had read on some other blogs, forums and other reports. I understood it hinging on the "fired" or "resigned" term and you are probably correct that it was termed that to keep mud from being slung. Either way that point has no direct hinging on my original post. I would never in a million years see TT at MSU. We probably wouldnt match his current 2.8-3.3 million contract and he is a burnt out older coach who runs a similar boring offense that we have seen for years. Byrne is going to get someone from a different mold.

First of all, I said player and not players..... Secondly the guy I know I coached in high school for two years and I can assure you it didnt take him 2 years to make an 18 on his ACT. He is one of the smartest, well mannered and best kids you could ever be around. Either way I have to prove nothing to any of you about who I do and do not know on the team. I also coached about 5 of our baseball players in high school and have good relationships with them as well. I just dont feel the need to publicly put their names on the board but if ANY of you would like the details then just PM me and I will give you any info you would like....
