What if Ark St coach had Oregon's players?

The more I see, the more it looks like Ark St did an incredible job game planning for Nebraska. Really exposed some holes in the defense (player ability/scheme/philosophy).

Why would Oregon do anything different with better players?

The matchup everyone is focusing on is our D vs their O. Hopefully their D is terrible and we can take advantage.

One projection I saw is for it to be a close game, 1 pt, Oregon winning.

For us to win the offense has to be really good, not sure if they're at that level yet.

It will be interesting to see how this one plays out.

Just my opinion, Ark St was in the game because 1) they passed a lot and they passed well, and 2) our coaches don't know how to put a game away.

Taggart is a #runthedamnball guy. Outside of a few NU fans, the rest of the world thinks Oregon is gonna stomp us. Why would you expect Taggart to deviate from a run-based game plan that he likes in a game they're expected to win? There's no reason to expect it.

Because he saw how well it worked?
So he's gonna go away from his bread and butter and do something they may not have been practicing until this week (since he saw how well it worked)?

I would suspect he already has a game plan in place after facing Diaco for 3 years when Diaco was at UConn. Maybe that incorporates a lot of quick passes, I don't know... but I doubt they change to a short passing game ala Arkansas State just because of what he may have seen last week, in my opinion.

So if Osborne saw that the opponent had a weakness against the pass he would change his offense to throw it 68 times instead of 26? Taggart is going to run his offense, he will mix in those bubble screens especially if he gets a match up he likes, but rest assured Nebraska will get a heavy dose of Royce Freeman and gang and the zone read.

It's just my opinion, and opinions vary.

Teams that think they're gonna win have a tendency to stick with their normal game plan. Teams that think their gonna lose are the ones that alter game plans.

Instead of 26? When was Osborne planning to throw it 26 times? ;-)

Run the dang ball!

Yes. Young and Weber are going to be in the spotlight this week much in the same way newby and Gifford were last week.

why do you have to be so freaking obtuse?. Osborne wouldn't change what he does simply because the opponent struggles against the pass. Neither will Taggart.
Chill. It was a joke hence the smiley face. Osborne would never plan to even pass it 26 times. Run the dang ball.

agree, my belief is that Newby and Gifford will still be in the spotlight because they still have to contain and not let Freeman or Herbert get outside, but if you are correct in that Young, Weber, and Barry will be the names called the most. Especially if the front 3 (4) are able to block the middle of the LOS.

Maybe you didnt watch the game, but its not that hard to complete 5 yard passes. Ark st did it 46 times.

Good answers. I'm not impressed with our ability to tackle in space, but it will be interesting to see what they do.

Arkansas state. Is a much better team then Southern Utah . <--------- who Oregon played last week. Last year Wisconsin only beat Georgia State by 6 two weeks after beating #13LSU. Rember are 97 team. Central Florida gave them a scare. 1 week a team can look amazing next look flat. Are team always seems to find a way to surprise you. Good or bad i support this team. In the end it's just a game being played by kids.

Again, maybe they throw out the script and throw 46 passes. I don't think they will. Do you?

It's true, especially with a truck like Royce Freeman in the backfield. But Herbert is a very good passer, though maybe our receivers are not. Should be an outstanding game!
