<span style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline;">Ole Miss</span>

Beats N. Arizona
Losses to UT
Losses to LSU

<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="font-weight: bold;">MSU

</span></span>Losses to Bama
Beats Ark

That would mean that the Egg Bowl winner would be bowling and the loser would not right? I can't even imagine Davis-Wade if that was the case.

There just weren't as many tie ins back then, so it effectively ended up being a game where the winner went bowling and the loser stayed home. Had the tie ins been the way they are now, the game would've been simply for bowl positioning, not for a bowl bid.

Not only is this possible, most of it is probable.

OM will be odds on to lose to UT and LSU.

We will be odds on to lose to Ala and Ark.

So playing the odds, OM will need to beat us to be bowl eligible. We will be playing for a fifth (not sixth) win.

I hope to win all our games, just saying what you describe is not far fetched.

Yes, but I was referring to the pre-season expectations of both teams. The suggestion of this scenario at the beginning of the year would have been laughable to both sides.

to go bowling, Mullen would exceed every expectation I've ever had. He would have either beaten the #3 team in the nation or have gone to Arkansas and secures a win, something that I don't believe any other coach in our history has been able to do.

Not that this says very much, but he would have also matched Crooms total conference road wins in one season...
