What if Sidney sucks? What happens then?

If this season ends up being a wash, could Stans possibly lose his job? Or does Scott call him on the carpet and put him on noticebefore next year?

I don't think he will lose his job, but I think the Anti-Stans crowd will grow by leaps and bounds.</p>

But if we miss the NCAAT, he's going to be feeling some real pressure to win next year, especially with that recruiting class coming in.

He actually made the ill-fated decision to come to Miss. Stake.

In actuality, they are very similar. It's pretty much a fact that Sidney has great athletic ability, much like Newton. And he has got awesome size. What is he, 6'10", 270 lbs. or something? And call nail 3's? That's unfair sort of like a 6'6", 250 lb. QB being able to run like a wide receiver. Pretty much assures you that he won't suck.

Add in the troubled past, both bailing away from sketchy money situations, and they're similar, except Sidney got punished and Newton didn't. I bet you can except similar results from both situations.

I really think that if we don't make the tourney, Stans is going to start feeling a lot of pressure that he has never felt.

I believe that a lot of fans that are on his side will swing the other way.

I don't believe the current administration is going to accept "an occasional trip to the NIT" like the AD that hired Stans would.

...by landing Sidney, Moultrie, and the 3 Mississippi blue-chippers. No matter what happens this season, there will be "well, let's see what he can do with the new guys". And I thinkStans should get the extra time--his recruiting has earned it. Had he not landed Moultrie and any (or just one) of the MS blue-chippers, then his seat would be (and should be) VERY HOT.

Now, when I say "extra time", I'm not talking about 3 years to get back to the NCAA's. I'm talking consistently getting back to the NCAA's with a half-decent seed and at least a close chance to getting to a Sweet Sixteen. Not NIT's or barely making it to the NCAA's and getting beat easily in the first round--he's already had two years in a row with that.
