What if KT is actually one of our tutorgate offenders. What if because of that, JoMo knew KT would be out for most of the year along with Mayden. JoMo, as a result, goes after TS to take the reigns and mentor a freshman Shrader. Because of the university "hush hush" policy, no one is allowed to discuss details on tutorgate offenders. Therefore, KT goes through spring and summer ball seemingly as the #1/#2 guy, but knowing he would be out some large portion of the year. The season comes around and TS is named starting QB. To the public eye, KT is upset that he lost the job and enters the transfer portal. As a result of no fit in the portal, KT returns to team. After missing some time, upon return, KT has restrictions due to missing that time with team. KT then deals with a "lingering injury".
To the fans/viewers/couch coaches, we are left with the "Why not put KT in" "KT earned this job" or "KT got a raw deal". When, in actuality, he is suspended for 8 games. Since he is already suspended 8 games, why not attempt to use that redshirt when the season is over to avoid losing essentially a full season.
The Wildcard is the TS injuries. Had TS not been injured, we wouldn't be having the "burn Shrader's redshirt" discussions. KT and Mayden would serve their 8 game suspensions, Shrader would play 4 games of Mop-up duty, and TS would have a solid Sr. campaign. A win all the way around.
Let me be clear and say that I have ZERO inside knowledge of anything related to MS State athletics. I am making ZERO accusations towards any player. From everything I hear KT is a true Scholar-athlete. I'm just an observing fan that just had a "What-if" moment. Yes, there are likely numerous holes in the above theory, which I'm sure many of you will get all bent out of shape over. Enjoy.
