What in the 17 is wrong with Conner?

He has 5 hits in last 27 AB's. he is getting no clutch hits, leaving men on base left and right. Now don't get me wrong he is hands down out best offensive player, but he is beginning to suck like all the others.

batting averages, two guys with more home runs, and two guys with just as many homeruns. Connor builds his stats against weak pitching. He's just an average first basemen in this league.

I wouldn't call it being pitched around when you are striking out and hitting lazy fly balls.

he did get intentionally walked with runners on this Saturday, but that was just because he drew a 3-0 count.

You don't "pad" your stats vs weak pitching early and then "suck" once SEC play starts. The guy is getting 1 pitch (maybe) an at-bat to hit, nobody hits very well in that situation. Name another player in our lineup that you think other teams honestly don't want to throw to. We don't have another. Powers was leading the SEC as of last night in RBI and Slugging. I'd say he's a damn good hitter, forget the last 27 ABs.

Another clutch AB for Conner and another lazy fly. And he got 3 good pitches to hit. That time.

I don't get all of this bitching about our offense. Not "clutch", "watching strike 3." Our hitting has been good this season....no one should be complaining about the hitting. We have the worst pitching and defense in the freaking conference and people are bitching about someone striking out.

He does have guys hitting behind him that are hitting .375 and .357 in conference play only, so it's not like he has "terrible protection." Sneed's slugging % is .641 and Duffy's is .548 in SEC play also, so while they may not be feared, they are still statistically some of the best hitters in SEC only games.

Again, hitting isn't really our problem. If it wasn't for some of the Cohen guys like Ogden, Frost, and Thigpen, our SEC batting average would be in the top 4-5 in the league. The other categories, not so much.
