I don't get it. Why do you take Girido out right there?? He was pitching well and then we bring in a freshman who has proven he cannot handle pressure. Typical Cohen.... I know you don't want to hear it but Polk would of gotten out of that

With 2 outs, no one on base, and with him pitching decent? Give him a chance to close out the inning. If he gives up a base hit or a walk, then yank him. <div>
</div><div>Also, ETA the hitter at the plate at the time was 0-2. I don't like the move to pull him when he did. </div>

Yeah that's what I thought. Goose egg. You can't win this, sorry. And what was Holder's era? That's what I thought...

Girodo hung the very first pitch he threw! Girodo doesn't give up walks and base hits, he gives up homeruns and leads. C'mon man, you're smarter than this post.

Holder's ERA was 0.00, not Girodo's. Girodo is our WORST pitcher. Get a clue, or tell me you're kidding. Even if you weren't, just tell me you were. Holy ****

Coming into the game, Girodo's ERA was over 6 and he faced ONE hitter today. Yes, he got him out, but it was also lefty on lefty and Girodo is horrible against righties (not great against lefties either).

Coming into the game, Holder's ERA was 0. You say he hasn't pitched well in pressure spots? How about 9 (I believe) saves this year? 3 saves in the SEC tourney alone. That's not pitching well in high pressure spots?

Your and idiot. Plain and simple. Holder picked a bad spot to have his only bad outing of the year, but Girodo was ABSOLUTELY not the answer there to stay in the game against 6 straight righties coming up for Samford.

Please explain when this "freshman" proved he couldn't handle pressure. Before today, he's been as good of a clutch pitcher as I've ever seen.

let him try to close out the inning with the next hitter. I was concerned bringing in Holder as early as we did, more than anything. I would hate for any single hitter to see Holder more than once. I was far more concerned about that than Girodo giving up a solo homerun or something like that. Like I said, I would have given him the next hitter and given him a chance to close out the inning. If he closes it out, great, if he doesn't, pull him and stick Holder in. That's what I would have done.

He threw to 1 guy? The absolute only reason he was in was for a lefty-lefty matchup. You can't put any fault on Cohen for that.

Nowhere did I say I would have tried to close the game out with him... I said I would not have pulled him for Holder in that instance. I would have given Girodo ONLY the next hitter. If he got out of the inning, great, if he gave up a walk or hit, THEN play matchups. All these pitching changes start to do more harm than good.
