What is JMI?

What is JMI and how does it affect recruiting? I've seen a few conversations on it and I do not understand it. I saw on social media we might be losing out on Collins because of a JMI deal going bad.

It is perhaps significant that nobody else in SEC is represented by them. The basic problem seems to be they wish to restrict any kid we sign from going into any NIL agreements with anyone not contractually partnered with them. No other major school has this stipulation from what I've read. This has rubbed the agents representing the major high school players the wrong way. I won't even get into all the perks and "bonuses " angled towatd our AD and his assistant for doing business with them, they and our athletic department administration are corrupt as hell.

A company that our associate ADs wife runs after she was ran out of the last organization she led
Yeah it's all kickback money for Mitch, Eli, and the trustees/board of directors.
Just think the contract is until 2040. Awesome idea to sign a long term deal without testing the working relationship and it's effectiveness. That how you know somebody or somebodies are getting PAID.

Sounds like a absolute crap deal

Thanks. I didn't know there was restrictions for players anymore. Sounds like a horrible deal. Another reason Mitch needs to go

2040? So, in other words, we are not going to be in the conversation for at least 15 more years. Can the governor or legislature step in?

Probably won't know a whole lot until someone drafts an open records request from the state.. for the contract details. Or until whoever has already requested them gets them back.

I've seeing a lot of "negativity" on the boards today about the direction of the program, and frankly, I’ve had enough. I think some of you need to stop reading those "unverified" blogs and start embracing the synergy.

I was standing in line at the UK Federal Credit Union this morning (getting a fresh stack of Blue-and-White fifties, obviously), and I had an epiphany: JMI Sports is the best thing to ever happen to this university!

While I was waiting, I pulled up UKSN All-Access (powered by UK Federal Credit Union) on my phone to get the real scoop. I don’t know why anyone listens to anything else. If it isn’t on BBN Tonight (presented by UK HealthCare), it basically didn't happen. I love that I don't have to think anymore; I just wait for Keith Farmer to tell me how excited I am about the new "Strategic Multi-Platform NIL Synergy Initiative."

I even saw a guy in a Kroger (the Official Grocery of the Wildcats) wearing a shirt that wasn't an officially licensed BBN United product. I almost called the JMI compliance hotline right there! These are the kind of people costing us the recruits!

If you aren't drinking Coca-Cola (the Official Soft Drink of Rupp Arena) while listening to the Mark Pope Show (presented by UK HealthCare), are you even a fan? Stop asking about the X’s and O’s and start focusing on the ROI!!

Is this legit?
Sort of. Our associate AD is Rachel Baker. Her husband works for JMI.

Now, you tell me how a little know media company (at the time) based in San Diego gets hooked up with the University of Kentucky? I’d love to know if Baker and her husband were together before or after JMI and UK hooked up. If they were together before then it’s almost guaranteed that they’re what got the two together. Barney, Baker and her husband probably all get kickbacks from the deal.

No clue if it’s still the case but last year someone on HOB claimed that Baker was being groomed to be Barney’s replacement as AD. That would be about as bad of a next hire as it could get. Hopefully someone at UK has enough common sense to make sure the next ad isn’t a Barney stooge.

I’m hoping someone can sue them for some kind of insider deal. Corruption. It’s our best hope of getting rid of this.

Are you talking about the same Brandon Baker who worked for IMG at the time UK left IMG for JMI? Yup, there was probably an inside deal made with UK, a sales manager at IMG, and JMI. It all
makes perfect sense now.

Just a FYI, for your conspiracy theory to be more legit, it would be better to say that the extension was an inside deal since he was actually a JMI higher up at that time and not just a sales manager at IMG. Just to tidy it up a bit.
