I think most your teams now are doing something in the spring maybe not to the extent of Appomattox, they are truly impressive, but I know a lot of teams are working out and practicing, installing, etc.

I know there are many teams in the area without coaches so its going to be hard to get them programs up to speed. I feel bad for the football players in those programs that might have athletes that want to move to another county or school to get in with a descent program.

Haven't seen Richlands schedule yet, but they usually attend about 7-8 7 on 7s in several different states. They've also been lifting since the Monday after the loss to Appomattox. It's year round here. Always something to do.

Football season never ends down there and that's the way it should be... Pre Season-->Regular Season-->Post Season-->Off Season->Repeat

Exactly. They lift probably 330 days a year. They condition hard in the off season. Go to camps. 7 on 7s. And all of it shows when you look at our records since 2003. I don't think we've ended a season with less than 10 wins in that span. Maybe one year with 9.

9 wins in '08, '12, 13, & '14. Still though, one of the most consistent programs in the state since '03 avg a 10-2 record.

This is exactly why Richlands will be a force for years to come. They take pride in weight room and commit to 7 on 7s. Many teams around here dont do the 7 on 7s except Appo, Altavista, Brookeville, J.F., and a few others.
Coach smith did a big fun raiser to bring money in to renovate the weight room. It is halfway complete. They have been working on it since Winter Break. Its is starting to look amazing. They are in the process of putting an office in there with a water fountain (yes, all these years our weight room never had a water fountain). I will put pics up after it is completed. Wish I had before pics so I could show ya the difference. Since day 1 of Coach Smith being here, he has had a strong weight room regime. He is the health/gym coach so he has the 9th graders in weight room every year to learn fundamentals of weight training. he works them with weight training at least 3 days a week. NO male student goes through Appomattox without being in class with him.
