What kind of luggage do you use?

I don't think they make "it will last you a lifetime" luggage anymore. I'll go to Kohl's every 3-4 years and get a new Samsonite. I refuse to spend over $100 for something the Delta will trash after 3-4 years of use. That being said, the best suitcase I ever had was an American Tourister. I bought one similar to it about 5 years ago and it tore up after 2 trips.
Same for me, except Marshall's. They have decent looking/performing stuff that doesn't cost much, so if it breaks I don't worry about it. And I really haven't had any of it break noticeably yet.

I've got away and travel pro. I like the soft side travel pro a lot better than the hard sided away. Easier to pack and holds more. User choice on whether to get 4 wheels or 2
After going to a 4 wheel spinner, I'm not sure why they even make 2 wheelers any more. It's much more freeing not having to roll that thing behind me in a relatively straight line.

Can't go wrong with American Tourister softside. Mine have outlasted many airport gorillas and still look good.

Specifically looking for a larger ones for checked bags I've had a hard-sided Samsonite for a couple years, piece of garbage cracked in the top from a very minimal amount of pressure.

I like the idea of hard-sided but I'm open to soft. I'm in pretty good shape as far as carry-on options; if I'm traveling for more than a long weekend, I prefer to check bags.

I'd really love to get something that would last a while, knowing that's gonna cost money. What are the options here?
Coolife off Amazon. Affordable and durable in my experience.

I’ve been using TravelPro for about 30 years … bigger pieces for checked bags and smaller carryons … all of it has held up extremely well and been worth the money. It‘s become my go-to brand for graduation gifts, too.

I also have an LL Bean waxed canvas duffel bag that I bought about 25 years ago which is practically indestructible. It’s literally been all over the world with me, and it’s still my go-to for throwing stuff into for a weekend trip.

I have a Filson duffel that sounds similar and it's absolutely my go-to for short car trips. Thanks for the rec.

Just be sure to get black or red like every other MFer on the luggage carousel!
