it's not so much that we lost to Aubarn last night on their court. They are an underachieving team that can play very well at times.

Last night was made bad because of Rider and W. Kentucky. When you lose to **** teams like those two, you can't 17 up later on, and you have to make up some ground somewhere ala beating a Kentucky, Vandy, or Fla...we haven't done that.

It's the losses to Auburn + Rider + WKU + Bama + Ark that is bad. We win two out of those other four games, and the Auburn loss isn't that bad at all.

These boys worked hard and brought MSU another championship. You can't expect more from a team returning 5 starters from a team that barely made the tournament.

Coaches Stansbury, Cunningham, Kirby, and Grant all deserve huge raises and a pat on the back for all their accomplishments this season even after playing a very tough schedule. MSU fans should swell with pride when that coveted SEC West Championship banner is raised to the rafters.

Hang a banner in NITChampsville. The sheep will love it!!!

SEC West Champs 2010. Way to go Ricky!!!!!!

SEC West Champs 2010. Let that settle in folks, it's a championship!!! MSU, to the top!!!

...we surely have not done anything to deserve a bid this year. And beating UT won't change that in my mind.

Your post is exactly right, but the bottom line is that you control your own destiny and need to beat a 5-9 team to stay alive, even after that horrendous start.

It is such typical Buryball for that not to happen.

OM, if they win at Arkansas Saturday will have beaten everyone in the West ON THE ROAD except for us. We, on the other hand ended up losing @Ark, @Bama and @Aub and needed a miracle shot not to lose @LSU. Let's face it, even with the early season losses, there's no reason we shouldn't have won 11 or 12 games in the SEC this year given how weak the West has turned out to be. The only game we've won in the league all year that you can say we probably shouldn't have was @OM but we've lost quite a few we shouldn't have on the road. If we don't make the NCAA field, and we probably won't, we have noone to blame but ourselves and we've just really underachieved this year based on what this team was capable of.

when you ***** and whine like a little 17ing girl about "all the fans" who are completely happy just winning the west. But when it comes time to call them out,you can't really find anyone who really thinks that. So you have to pretend to be that person to make a point. 17ing retarded.</p>

I have yet to see anyone who is just happy to win the West and win 20 games. Anyone who is not pissed that we are on the outside looking in of the NCAAT is a moron. However, you can be upset about one thing without crapping all over the good things that we have accomplished, especially while blowing Darrin Horn and John Pelphrey. Lord knows there have not been alot of things to be excited about at MSU lately in any sport.

You are off to a rocky start on your first three posts.

This season has been a major disappointment. The thing that pisses me off is that Stan's doesn't even seem to care. He said something last night in the post-game alluding to the fact that he didn't worry about what we do or do not have to do to make the tourney??

then yes this year could end it. Nobody has ever said winning the west was better than going to the NCAA tournament. All anyone has ever said was that winning the west is good. And compared to the alternative of not winning it, yes it is pretty damn good. Even in a year when we win the west and don't go to the NCAAT, it's not like we've had a terrible year. We've had a pretty decent year. It's frustrating it hasn't been better, but no one would argue that we aren't one of the top 60-70 teams out of 330+ in Div. I.

Saying that it shows how great of a coach he is and that we would be crazy to fire "The King of the SEC West". Winning the West doesn't even put you in the NCAA tourney, so that kind of kills that argument.Stans and this team have under-achieved once again.

I get what you are saying.

But that first statement....if you are gonna lead the SEC West (or the SEC as we aspire to do), you're gonna get people's A game. We can't just say Auburn, or Arkansas, or whoever happened to bring their A game and "that's basketball". We need to sack up and play - preferably with an offensive system that knows how to manufacture points when the go-to 3-ball gimmick isn't working.

Stans can't take wearing the bullseye.

while it is a bigdisappointment thus far, it can become a season to rememberIF we get in the tourney and win a couple of games.

you sir are an idiot. a coach that has 5 returning starters should do better than the year before. give him the first year to bring em together but to go from winning the sec tournament and then most likely not makin the tournament the next year? you can and should expect more.
