Not taking anyone's side in this stupid internet battle, but... LOL
I mean, it did cross my mind to post a "Where's dingle with the 'What no fire Erstad threads today?' post" post.
I've been kind of bullish on this year's team, and think this might be the season that the conference title drought ends. But when it's Year Six and the Huskers have climbed into 3rd place in the conference they were destined to dominate from the very moment Erstad took over, it might be a bit early to start gasbagging about how all the big meanie haters have clearly been proven wrong, wrong, wrong!!!!!

It's hardly "gasbagging" to mention that they won a game and nobody is calling for Erstad's head tonight now is it? It was posed as a question even though it was a fact. Not once have I promoted Erstad as a great coach. Not once. I do think he's a good coach and a great fit for NU. As far as NU being "destined to dominate" the B1G goes, that's a setting yourself up for failure attitude. As we found out in football, the B1G is tougher than we thought and we are NOT entitled to win anything just because some of our fans think we are. Just like the other teams in the B1G, we're a cold weather program and we have to fight the same battles as most of our B1G brethren with less of a local recruiting base to recruit from albeit with a LITTLE bit more tradition than most of them. The main reason I started this thread is that there were no stories about the win on the home page when I got home and tried to find the score. I didn't look to page 2 of the threads because I thought surely it would be front and center as it usually is when we lose. IF I had seen the thread on page 2, I wouldn't have started a new one and kicked a sleeping dog.

I'll be your huckleberry....Can we do better than Erstad? I have no idea, but I'd suggest if his name was Bill Jones and everything else was equal, his pants would be on literal fire from his very warm seat. Having said all that, I'd never start a thread suggesting we fire Bill Jones, I mean Erstad. Can't fire Erstad, he's a legacy, but his results are sooooo average, but it wouldn't bum me out if we went in another direction either.

Yeah it's pretty amazing how so many threads leaped right over the ever-so-vaguely titled "Husker baseball vs. Gophers 4/21" thread, without anyone commenting on them. But SuperFans gotta SuperFan, even if that means picking an argument with.... well, nobody in particular.
To be fair, there are a handful on this board that do not post when we win. Nope. They lie in wait for the next moment the team falters and then they jump all over the game thread with the anti-Erstad comments.

I am anti everybody. Especially when I don't agree with sports outfits. WHO THE HELL DO THEY THINK THEY ARE ANYWAY!
