30 wins bitches!! I can't wait for basketball season. The "luck of Stansbury" has smiled once aGAIN and this is his time to shine. This is the year all of you said was coming. Are you ready for it?

Schedule

OOC-
we have 13 games scheduled and are looking for 2 more "upgrades". They wont play us now that we have Renaldo coming in cause Stansbury is too chickenshit to schedule up when he doesnt feel he is loaded. So, we will add 2 more nobodys. That's 14 gimmes and a toss-up with Mizzou to start the season. Mizzou cant match-up with us when we go big, but we certainly can go smaller with them- we should win this game too. We should be 15-0 headed into the SEC, 14-1 at the very worst.

SEC- We are the class of the West, Auburn and LSU will take huge steps back with what they lost. Mississippi will struggle in the post, We are better than Bama at every position, and according to Meo and Hanmu, Opie cant carry Stansbury's jock. We get the beasts of the East (Tenn and Calitucky) in the Hump. 12-4 in the SEC is more than realistic. Could easily be 13-3 or 14-2 with some good coaching moves.

So sheep, that puts us at 26 or 27 wins heading into the SEC Tourney. It also puts us with a minimum 3 or 4 seed in the NCAA's. 30 wins should be attained.

No Mora excuses in basketball. No more "bad luck", we don't "lack NBA talent", we are 2 deep at every position...

November cant get here quick enough

If we win the SEC West, and make the Sweet 16, but dont win 30 games...thatll be cool by me.

If we win the SEC West, and win the SEC Overall, but lose in the second round and dont win 30 games, thatll be cool by me.

Those 2 scenarios are less than the best, but both are friggin awesome. Basically, i dont give a **** if we win 30 games or not IF we are still able to be successful.

You have decided to make 30 wins the benchmark, and all i can say is that you have just set a horribly high benchmark that is unattainable by something like 97% of College Basketball, based on recent season records. But i cant say im surprised by you setting such a benchmark.

Predicting 30 wins and then calling someone else a sheep? I hope you are right for once. By "Opie", I assume you are referring to Pelphrey, right?

it seems we are in the best position we have been in since the final four season.(Baaaaaa) I think if there is a team in the SEC that will take down UK it is MSU no doubt. I personally think we will be a better team than UT and should beat them in the hump. This really is the season that we have been waiting for. The pieces are all falling into place AS OF NOW. No telling what will happen between now and November but Stansbury should have bodyguards trail Jarvis and Renardo all offseason. No excuses for you now Stans, this is your proving ground season. If you do well we get up there with UT and UK as far as top bball programs in the SEC. If not we will remain a top 2nd tier team that we have been for some time now.

We cant just expect to run through all teams in the west. We will get upset once or twice im sure. Grabbing no lower than 4 seed in the NCAA's is key. By the tournament Stans should have a plan on how to switch out the big/small lineup and we could really hurt teams with that flexibility. Cant wait for the season.

There are no guarantees. How did K State do w/ Beasley and Walker? How did USC do w/ Mayo and a supposed great coach? And these guys were guys that are PROVEN to be legit.
Go through the top 25 of the top 100 basketball recruits the past couple of years and you'll see tons of guys that haven't produced.

Also, if we win the West or SEC overall, or SEC tourney w/ 11-13 conference wins, 23+ wins overall then I'll be happy. Chances are we'll do better than that.
And if we lose in the second round of the NCAA's again, I'll be disappointed at the moment, but it won't take away from the fact that I was happy w/ the season overall.

Some of my best memories as a State fan are the teams w/ Zimmerman, bowers, Austin, Roberts, etc when we dominated every team that came in the Hump, went undefeated on the road in the SEC, won multiple championships, etc... Just b/c we were disappointed in the tourney b/c we set the bar so high doesn't take away those great memories of winning during the season.
How many other sports have given us championship seasons and winning conference seasons on a regular basis the last 10 years?</p>

Hang on here, are you really trying to say Beasley and Walker didnt produce? Come on.

Beasley and Walker teamed up to help(and by help i mean carry KState on their shoulders) KState beat KU for the first time in something like 25 years.
They helped KState compete for the Big12 Title. They helped KState not only make the NCAA Tournament, but make it to the second round.
They single handedly(or double handedly, i guess) made KState relevant in the conference and on the national scene. They elevated KState to a level that it hadnt been at for years. And their impact is still being felt, some 2 signing classes later.

As for Mayo, USC is an underachiever, i wont disagree with that. At the same time, the team around him wasnt good enough to do much more than they did. They had 0 legit post presence beyond Gibson, and Gibson is sporatic at best as the top post option. A single player can only take a team so far in a team sport.
