What say you? How many SEC teams make it to the CWS? Looking at the bracket....

the SEC could have 7 out of 8 teams in Omaha. That would include the Bears, so not sure if I want that to happen. 6 out of 8 would be impressive. Looks like they did not try to prevent SEC domination from happening this year as in years passed. Bama and Florida could meet in a SR and Ark and A&M could meet in a SR. I say 4 make it to the CWS. (Vandy, State, Arky, and LSU)

Going through the bracket from top to bottom.

South Carolina - will have a tough time with Clemson in their regional. If they get out, they won't get past North Carolina.

Ole Miss - A good draw, but NC State still has the upper hand. I will say this - whoever comes out of Raliegh, whether it be NC State or Ole Miss, will have a good shot at taking down an Oregon team that can't hit. Wahl will dominate them.

LSU - Always has a hiccup. I think they lose one to ULL, but win the regional. I think Oklahoma wins in Blacksburg and LSU wins the Super. LSU to Omaha.

Vanderbilt - Not as shoe in as one might think. It will be interesting to see who Vandy throws against ETSU. The Bucs will likely go with their 13-1 1.XX ace. Georgia Tech has had flashes of being really good. I think Vandy gets out of their regional, but Louisville is capable of winning that Super. Vandy to Omaha, but its not a definite.

Florida. I think they win the Indiana Regional, fairly easily. And if they get it going, they can take out FSU. Florida to Omaha.

Alabama. They will lose to Troy. FSU is coming out of that regional, but fall to the Gators.

Mississippi State. I think we roll our regional. I'm thinking 9-3 over UCA, 7-2 over USA, 15-6 over Mercer roll it. Virginia will be tough. Would have rather had FSU. UVa has the upper hand here.

Arkansas. Will mess around and try to save Stanek and lose to Bryant. Will get back to the final, but won't be able to beat Wichita State twice. I think this is the regional where the 4 seed wins it.

Texas A&M. Won't get out of Corvallis. Could go 2 and out.

So I have LSU, Florida and barely Vandy.

Mississippi State is definitely the next most likely, followed by Ole Miss and then Arkansas.

A&M, Alabama and USCe have little chance.

Ole Miss will have to get past Carlos Rodon (LHP) for NC State. He is one of the top, if not the top, LHP in America. They will match up Wahl against him. Ole Miss doesn't hit lefties well and he may be the best. It will be an interesting matchup.

I don't think we make the CWS

Looking at our regional, we got screwed. It's clear that UCA can beat us. And Mercer is no slouch team. Even if we make it through our regional, UVA is definitely going to make it through theirs which means we will end up in a SR in VA. I just don't see us winning a SR in VA. We are too streaky. We had a run in the Tourney and Vandy ended that real quick. Pitching has been a problem and I don't see it improving any. I hope like hell we make it to the CWS but in my opinion, it's a long shot. We certainly don't have an easy road

I see Vandy sleeping on someone between now and Omaha. They are the most capable team, but there is a reason they have only been to Omaha once, even with some of the more dominant teams they have had.... so I agree with that one. Florida has the best regional draw (that isn't hosting) and LSU always seems to have a dumb postseason loss somewhere. I agree with all those.

Virginia is a tough draw, but that one could have been much worse. If we play our absolute best baseball, we can beat them.

LSU & Vandy easy. USC, Ark & MSU lose in super. Maybe 1 wins. Mississippi is an outside shot to win a regional if they hold Wahl for the winners bracket game against NC State.

Using the Lance Lynn precedent, Wahl may throw two games in the regional.
Doesn't NCSU have the #1 closer in baseball? I fell asleep with Sports South on the other day and woke up and they were doing one of their dumb *** cheesy shows and it was about a closer for NCSU. Take that with a grain of salt, they could have been talking about the other team... as I said, I was sleepy.

Wahl is great but they don't have much behind him, in the bullpen or on the field. A nasty closer could do a Wahl matchup in.

Team did not travel well this year....

Took just one series on the road & that was a sweep of TAM. Did OK at neutral sites but that is way different than a true road game. So the prospect of going on the road in the supers does not exactly fill me with confidence. One thing at the time though. I don't want to think much about the supers right now.

I hope we throw Sam Smith vs. William and Mary, and Wahl against N.C. State. Let Mayers take over after that, however it shakes out. If we are going to win the regional, we have to beat N.C. State on Saturday. We don't have the pitching to go through the loser's bracket.
