I think most SEC schools have a pretty large amount of bandwagon fans, but the bad thing is, it seems like a lot of those fans can't afford to buy season tickets at their adopted school, so they will buy road tickets to MSU- see Florida the last time we played them in Starkville- I could have seen less trash at a landfill.

It's funny in Jackson- a few years ago, I saw a lot of LSU stuff, and then it went to Alabama stuff last year, and now I'm seeing Auburn stuff. I wonder how many people just switch shirts, liscence plates, hats and etc. based on who wins?

Florida probably has increased in that number lately, and Georgia isn't too far behind. Tennessee, due to state population, lags those 4 in my opinion. Same with Arkansas, though I'd have them just behind Tennessee.

I'd say Vanderbilt has the most students and alums that DON'T cheer for their school, and you would be correct that MSU is probably near the bottom in bandwagon fans. So is Ole Miss. Just a guess, but I'd bet MSU has a slight edge over Ole Miss in walk-on alums, though neither of us have very many due to state population, lack of regional popularity/success, and the fact that we split a small state. I'd put Auburn and South Carolina ahead of both of us, so I'd have you 10th and us 11th, with Vandy the only school to actually have fewer fans than actual alums.

1. Bama - not even close
2. Tennessee - they dominate the entire state of TN
3. Florida - more Tebow lovers than anything
4. LSU - recent success and owning the state
5. Arkansas- all of Arkansas and Southwestern Mo. love the hogs
6. Georgia - where the rich kids from S.C. and Florida go
7. Auburn - would be higher if they didn't share the state with Bama
8. Ole Miss - racists
9. UK - basketball
10. South Carolina - never met a SC fan that didn't go there, but I'm sure there are plenty
11. Mississippi State - If you didn't go to MSU or live in the Golden Triangle, odds are you aren't a State fan
12. Vandy - I cheer for Vandy when they play almost any one else in the SEC

and State,OM,Vandy,USC,Kentucky have pretty much blown in football so those are the bottom 5. Bama and Florida tied for #1. The population in Florida dwarfs Alabama so that negates the UofM and FlaSt population. 3. LSU the entire population south of Hattiesburg and the entire state of Louisiana is a raging drunk LSU football fan but not basketball. 4. Tennessee the most delusional fan base of them all! Think they have a top 5 football program cause their stadium has 105,000 fat rednecks in highliter orange screaming the gayest fight song in college football. 5. Arkansas might be more but nobody goes into that state. 6. Georgia GTech has more fans in Atlanta than you think 7. Auburn and they just had a huge increase from fencepost Alabama residents who hate Bama but didn't care to pick another team till this year.

who not only root for one school (that they probably didn't go to, with occasionally hilarious results), but only pay attention to the one sport they're good at. I guess this makes them more frontrunning than bandwagon fans. They can even play "home" games on theirarch-rivalscourt. Alabama has two main schools that split the state's fanbase, same with Florida. LSU has to be up there (the MS coast + most of LA), along with UT, whose "instate" rivals have almost no fan presence outside of their respective cities.

those people are a cross between Bammers and Corndogs.

Although Auburn had quite a few jump onto the bandwagon the past few months. Florida and LSU are up there too. The bad thing is the state of Mississippi is a huge supplier to the bandwagon fan amount for those schools and maybe a couple others (e.g. USM students/alums). I would love to poll the USM campus and ask everyone what their favorite college football team is.

especially "border cities" like Columbus... hell, Meridian may have more bama band-wagoners than fans of any other individual school...

And I'd have called Bama #1 in that group.

Strange I pick Arky as #2. We lived there for a while back when and I found that everyone in ArkyHogville was a pig and rooted for them, too. They would tell you "Uuuuuuuuhhhh I went to Jonesboro, but I cheer for the Hogs"

Lsu is big on sidewalkism, too.

Florida folks seem spread out between three schools at least. Same with GA. TN has memphis fans and the Nashville Vandy guys.

Mississippiis solidly Fighting Okra. What can we say?

Arkansas. Agree with MeridianDog.The entire state claims the Hogs like a pro team. Kentucky basketball fans rival Bama football fans though. They flood the SEC tourney like rats from a sinking ship every year.
