A lot of Christians would freak out if they found out that the only difference between Christianity and Islam is the crucifixion. Granted, that’s a pretty big difference, and fundamental to all of our worldviews. But truthfully there is some common ground there.

There are similarities. They both branch from Abraham so there’s that……but there’s vast differences too.

There is almost certainly a 100% chance we’ve had a Muslim on the football team before. Not every Muslim is an extremist like you mention.
There is no extremist Muslim or moderate Muslim. There is a Muslim who believes in the verses of the Quran. If Mohammad were alive today, he wouldn’t be condemning the “extremists”, rather you’d find him leading them.

That said I’m a Christian so I obviously don’t agree with Islam. But demonizing folks doesn’t work either, if you’re interested in converting people - which sometimes I do wonder the true motives of my fellow Christians.
That’s more than a “pretty big difference.” It’s everything.

Somewhere out there, there's an Arabian sports message board where some people saying that Christians are actually pretty similar to Muslims, while others are argue that most extreme and backwards stereotypes apply to all of them.

I stopped believing in god a long time ago. i could not give two ***** who you believe in as long as you are good to others. If your faith makes you a better person, I am all for it. If you think less of me because I don’t believe what you do, then you are doing it wrong. Part of the reason I gave up my faith was people were way more concerned about their religion winning rather than just being kind to each other. case In point, this thread.

Do you voice this type of extremism in your every day life, or do you bottle it up and only let it squirt out on message boards?
