I'm sure losing to us in his own house made Petrino miserable for a couple days. But Petrino's record against us is still strong. Petrino is fortunate. He committed a series of big mistakes that would have killed most people's careers. Yet he sits at Louisville with a lucrative long term contract and the security it brings him. He coaches in a weak P5 conference where he mainly has to compete with Clemson and Florida State. This year, he blew out FSU. Rick Pitino is the lightning rod at Louisville, so Petrino is not under the microscope although he should be. He is free to take transfers who have gotten themselves into big trouble at other schools. The local media worships him. He has already put together the makings of a solid recruiting class, and he will probably get Lamar Jackson back for 1 more year. So I think Petrino is doing pretty well.
