Despite the season long self promotion by the SECand the Network that promotes them , the SEC was apparently NOT the hands down toughest conference in the land. The SEC west fared poorly in their bowl games and the TItle this year will rest elsewhere.
Despite a decent 1st season in the ACC our Louisville Cardinals were soundly beaten by the Georgia Bulldogs. It was a good lesson for where we are and what we need to do to improve. While disappointed we need to remember that this was the first year ever...ever...that Louisville was in a conference with the big boys of the sport. 9 and 4 is an excellent starting point and given what has been accomplished in the past and finding a way to excel at every level we have been relegated to, there is no reason to think that, in time, we won't be in the hunt for conference Titles and major bowls.
There will be much spinning and excuse making in the next few days around here. I will enjoy the efforts to hear people attempting to make a "silk purse out of a sow's ear"
