I think the speed of getting a coach in place sooner all depends on how important the administration thinks the program is for the school! What is the value of the program for the school? Especially in a private school!
How about Large programs with 150 kids in off season workouts with no head coach and the assistants running it don’t even know if they have a job!
Very true! Not good for those assistant coaches but at least the kids have some sort of direction, I guess anyways.

It's not college or the pros. New head coaches at a suburban high school really don't get carte blanche filling out a staff.
My guess is most schools/districts don't know what teaching positions will be open in the fall yet
Well if they are hiring now without teaching positions open, they probably do not care very much.
