If Trump's popularity remains mediocre to poor over the next 10-12 months, will congressional republicans seeking re-election remain loyal to him? At some point, protests will die down, the press will relax, Trump may even stop lying. Who knows. Business as usual will resume at some point. But it will be worth watching to see how long the ranks hold.

It depends on how the people in the state and districts they represent feel. Since the majority of people have voted out the dems, you would have to expect that as log as Trump supports what Congress wants to pass, they will support him.

Define mediocre to poor in the context of your statement - how is that measured and on what scale would it rank?
