if the offense improves significantly with Croom taking over as the OC for now? I know, I know Croom has been in charge of the offense the whole time, blah, blah, blah... but what if we average something like 35 points on our first two games? (Not all THAT unrealistic considering we're playing La Tech and SELU)

And to take it a step further, what happens if Woody comes back and we revert to sub 100th in the country type offense? I'm sure that there would be a big push to have Woody fired, but I'm sure that would cause a rift between Croom and is friend.

Just wanted to throw that out there before the season starts and it becomes a moot point.

If we struggle to score in the first 2 games, we'll know the offense is terrible, but the 2 defenses we'll face will be so bad that even a bad offense could average 35 points (or more) in those games.

...but I think we are probably going to look worse with Croom calling the plays. I don't know if Woody had any other role than to sit in the pressbox with headphones, but adding more responsibility to the head coach is probably not a good thing. His plate is already full.

Woody is expected back Monday, I am not sure how much good or bad could be done in that length of time.

</p> If he is getting a kidney removed I would be shocked to see him at the La Tech game next week

he might not be coming back for a lot longer than a week, if at all. And Croom's already alluded to that being a possibility.

Why does one have a kidney removed? If that is the case, what does that mean for us, as far as his length of time on the DL?

Sub-hypothetical: Woody goes down- who's the longer-term backup? Rocky?

I hope the man recovers to full health. But goodness... If the KY game rumors are true, then I would love to see Rocky get another shot.

but what the hell? It's sixpackspeak.com

I'm going to say that the most like cause is ESRD- which is medical for end stage renal disease. I'm going to guess that his kidney wasn't working, and since kidneys play a part in blood pressure control and hormones, the MD obviously felt it was in his best interest to take it out. I'm not sure if Woody is a candidate to get a transplant later or not. Another reason I can think of off the top of my head is trauma to the kidney, but I doubt that's the case.

in either game. Our team might score 35 points but I don't think the offense will. I'm thinking 20-10 against LaTech. We should beat SE LA handily but I think the D or special teams will get a TD.
