Not much going on, and I know it's extremely early for this topic, but what will you be looking to see in game 1? <div>
</div><div>Obviously, that game will not tell us much, but I want to see the O-line and how well they block both run and pass. I also want to see how balanced we are...and how often, and who, we run between the tackles. And finally, whether Dak gets in the game or not, and I just want to watch our defense as a whole.</div><div>
</div><div>What you think? Is there anything we can take from that game.</div>

Basically I want to see our offense clicking like the Utah offense did against Bama.

I'll be watching the QBs, RBs and both lines.

I want to see good decisions from Tyler and Dak. High completion percentage.

I want to see how the RBs perform. Hitting the holes. Blocking. Catching. I expect the third and fourth guys to put up a lot of rushing yards.

Then I'll be watching the lines. Technique. Winning their battles. Penalties.

I'm fairly confident the rest of the team will perform well. WRs, TEs, LBs and the secondary. I think they'll be fine.

Oh yeah ... THE KICKERS. Will definitely be watching them. I think the starters are going to all be true freshmen, so it'll be interesting to see how they do.

I want to see our kicker punch a few through from 30+ with conviction. That will be huge Going forward, and other than pressure, there isn't much difference between kicking against J State and Auburn.

Being early, there may be a breakdown or two with respect to pass blocking, but otherwise, he shouldn't be pressured. If he is, we have problems on the O-Line.

I'm assuming we keep it pretty generic on both sides of the ball, so we may not dominate the way we could, but our players should be winning individual battles all over the field.

On the field, the Sonic Boom of the South better bring it. Go hard or go home band.

For us not to hurt ourselves showing out! If our completion percentage isn't REALLY GOOD to excellent, we could be in trouble hosting the tree huggers. Again, we won't know much, if anythi about our team until week #2. It's time to start winning some 17ing big boy games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's time to start winning big boy football games......

Guys don't forget that no matter who we are playing, it is still the first game. This 63-0 stuff, and bright white jersey stuff has absolutely no bearing on how we will do this year. Due to it being the first game of the year, there will be screw ups. That's why I don't put down a number we have to win by or saying the QB shouldn't be touched. The key will be determining whether or not our problems, because there will be some, are talent related or first game related. We won't know anything till the second game unless things go very badly.

This guy has it right. If u honestly believe a 63-0 win then u must think we're gonna go to the Atlanta this year too w/ an undefeated season. It ain't happening. I expect to see pass block breakdowns, guys in blue & white wide open sometimes in the flat and missed tackles! We are NOT LSU or Bama. We don't beat teams by 60 pts. We don't have 3 deep 5*s on our roster. Let's be realistic here. I expect a 35-7 or something along those lines.

just like we did with Russell his freshman year. I think he will run a couple of series in the 1st half and then take over the entire 4th quarter as we cruise to a 54-7 win.

screw this 35-7 ********. JState will be about like Memphis last year- and we should be at least as good as we were to start 2011

Sure have fun and pad those stats, and I'd love to see us show off Tyler's arm and Dak's legs, but we gotta stay healthy.

Jackson State is worse than Memphis. There's really no reason to think we can't beat them by about 60. No one said that beating or not beating JSU by 60 will determine what kind of season we will have.

That said, I'd like to see us win by at least 35 or so. I want to see Russell in total command, at least by the second quarter. I also hope Russell plays the whole game unless we get up by 60 or so.

I want our defense to totally dominate, especially the D-line. We started off a bit slow there last year, so I'd definitely like to see our D-linemen putting the pressure on right out of the gate.

If it's 35-7 then we will lose to the tree rollers...unless Dan wants to play walk-ons and 3rd teamers for the entire 2nd half. Remember this isn't La Monroe or Tulane that we're playing, it is the SWAC and J State just lost their productive qb to graduation. It is the first game and of course there will be mistakes, but frankly, in this one it shouldn't matter.

Also, I feel like the barn could be 0-1 coming to Davis-Wade. We better be ready!!

Denico Autry to be unstoppable, Slay to start, Quay to get some playing time, Jameon to kick it up in special teams, Joe to be a physical endzone threat, Nick Griffin to have better acceleration than in the spring game, Josh Robinson to get some play time, and for us to get up early and Russell the hell off of the field. I don't really think Dak is ready for the big leagues yet, but he needs some experience and Tyler Russell has hurt himself too much without even being on the field. The most important thing for us, IMO though, is for the O-Line to click.

If we only win 35-7 with a much better team than he had then, you can hang it up. AU will kill us at DWS this year.
