What will you do if the flag changes?

When our flag is changed I will be glad I can drive by a couple of public places in my community where the current flag is still flying and know my blood pressure will not change. My concern is we have legislators who are hiding behind the idea that the people should decide. We decided when we voted for you, Mr. or Ms. Legislator You were elected to make decisions, so do your job. Currently my representatives are hiding. If that continues I will not support them next time. We need leaders, not fence riders. If this thing is allowed to go to a vote it will further divide our state. Put it to bed now, please.

No sir, no more than any other person of his generation. But if you want to see him as so, whatever. Like so many others of his time, he realized he was wrong and worked to put it behind him. But then again, no sin related to racism can ever be forgiven**

Yeah, Laurin wanted to distance her name in the beginning. Her site is called Declare Mississippi after all. But Stennis Flag is the popular name & then there is the interesting coincidence that the letters that go with the Two Museums car tag are SF (for State Flag according to her website but you know people will think otherwise)...

I have the current state flag on my flightbag and the same design in the shape of the state on my truck. I'm proud of the flag and support it solely because it is the flag that represents my state. When the flag changes (which it will), I will put the new flag on my flight-bag and let the one on my truck continue to fade/peel and be just as proud and supportive of the new flag...because it represents my state. The entire argument is one of perspective. If you choose to look at the topic through racially charged lenses...you're going to see a racially charged problem. When originally designed, the flag was not a racist symbol...it was the utilization of the confederate battle flag by groups such as the KKK that shed a racially charged light on any and all replications of the confederate battle flag. Much like the swastika. Originally, the swastika was an African (? I think) symbol of peace; it wasn't until Hitler used it to represent the most hateful empire in the modern world. But, now, the swastika is synonymous with National Socialism.
Right now, it's the flag. Once that's gone...it'll be something else. It's the cancel culture
