If Shapen is in the picture in any role other than a backup (assuming MVB stays healthy), it would be coaching malpractice.
Even NFL QBs have this problem. Peyton Manning threw the ball away if his first couple of options weren't open, more QBs need to do this. Obviously Kermit the Frog in KC, etc., can make big plays by holding on the ball too long, but most QBs don't.
The only thing about OL, is that it doesn’t appear to be a quick fix using the portal. You have to develop a good OL. DL you can fix in the portal.

It’s amazing how so many loose optics of how much transition this program has had to deal with over the last year. That’s about the best summary that I could give as well. If we’re being honest, he’s got a lot to work on. He has the worst completion % of any QB in the conference and the 2nd worst QB rating, only ahead of the UK guy. Subjectively, he’s also missing some throws that he simply has to complete, and we haven’t really been getting much benefit from his running ability.
Was told by an Ole Miss fan yesterday the word is that that MVB would end up in Michigan next year. I'm sure this was being circulated as a talking point in Oxford on Saturday since he went to the game.
Not being negative, just realistic. I have no idea what Van Buren is going to do. I hope he stays here, and I think there's at least a 50% chance he does. But they guy I was talking to is a good friend who talks to a lot of people at a lot of different schools. He wouldn't be bullsh*tting me about this.
