What would be your price for the BCSCG ticket if State was playing?

One of my co-workers stopped by today and told me that her relative had just gotten an email from Stubhub. The relative had purchased four tickets for the BCSCG a while back at about 800-900 each for the family of four to go to Glendale. Stubhub emailed her today and offered to buy back the tickets at the price she paid for them.....plus $10,000.

Unless you are printing money, $10,000 for four tickets would have to make anyone stop and think. I'm not sure what I would do if it was State. I am not sure $10,000 would get the tickets out of my hands. But that's easy to say when I don't have an offer in hand.

I would probably take the money and buy four more. Win/win, and I would probably end up making money- and maybe enough to cover the cost of the trip depending on how much the tickets that I bought cost.

I know another guy who bought from Stubhub for 800-900 per for four. The seller has now said they can't provide the tickets, and apparently Stubhub is requiring the seller to purchase comparable tickets to the ones he promised, and the four tickets are costing him $20,000.

Another guy I know (a junior ChemE major) bought one the night of the SEC Championship Game for $600 from a broker on ebay. Booked his flight, got his hotel, etc. The broker called him Monday and told him he could not fill the order.

Everyone in Auburn has a story about these tickets. It's like nothing I have ever seen.

unless I just make bank all through out my career (I'm dreaming) then I wouldn't have a need to take the $10K

I went to the SEC Championship game last year and paid $200 per ticket. I paid about the same if not more for mine than most everyone else I know that went.

I wasn't able to go to Pasadena for the BCSNC game, but several friends were able to go. Most paid around $500 if they bought ahead of time. Got a text before the game that said $300 was the going rate everywhere on the street.

Now I cant imagine the value of a seat for this year's game would be 10X that of last year's. Obviously, there were very expensive club seats and such last year, but there is no way it is costing these people this much money just to get into the game.

That is, unless these sellers are Auburn "fundraisers" trying to refill the slush from last year?

It is apparently a much hotter ticket than last year's game according to reports. In fact, the best selling ticket Stubhub has ever seen.

I know people who went to ATL this year looking for tickets and couldn't find anything less than $700.

PHOENIX -- A huge mistake could cost online ticket marketplace StubHub thousands of dollars, and if you have a ticket to the BCS National Championship game, you can cash in.

The fan-to-fan ticket sales website on Wednesday suspended the sale
of tickets to Monday's BCS title games between No. 1 Auburn and No. 2
Oregon when is learned a seller did not have enough tickets to fill
orders.

StubHub sent an email to fans who had already purchased tickets,
offering to buying them back for a full refund plus an additional
payment of twice the ticket price.

If a fan paid $1,000 for a ticket, for example, StubHub will refund that $1,000, plus kick in an additional $2,000.

A spokeswoman for the online ticket broker said they are confident
that they will have enough takers to fill outstanding orders. That
spokeswoman said StubHub will bill the seller for the additional costs.

StubHub said it does not believe the seller in question, whose name
has not been released, was trying to scam customers. Officials said it
looks like the seller was simply overwhelmed by the demand for tickets.

StubHub said tickets to the Monday's game could be available on the site again over the weekend.

The company's spokeswoman said the BCS title game is the best-selling
event in StubHub's history and that tickets are selling for well above
their face values. Single seats were going for as much as $8,600
Wednesday.

StubHub said it will have representatives in Arizona on game day in case any issues crop up.

San Francisco-base StubHub is a division of eBay. The company says its FanProtect™ Guarantee backs every order.

AuburnIS trying to replenish the coffers after last year's recruiting class.

It all makes sense now. Auburn fans, open up your wallets....this national championship doesn't come for free.Remember kids, it all comes back to the consumer.

I know an Auburn fan that is going. He paid $1000 for two upper deck tickets. I'd probably do about the same. An Alabama friend of mine had decent corner endzone tickets for $300 last year.

I know another Auburn grad that lives in Phoenix that got corporate tickets on the 50 regardless of who was playing. Needless to say, he's estatic.

would you pay 10k for us to be in a Nat'l Title game? cuz as you can see we were a mere 180,000 US doll hairs away from playing in the damn game... and no i wouldn't trade my ticket for anything shy of the ransom of my family members.

Until I have no debt and at least a million in savings, I have no business hanging on to tickets to a 4 hour game that can get me that kind of coin.

If the Dawgs were in the BCSCG, there would be no stopping JohnDawg from getting there. I don't care how much it would cost.

just to say i was there for it. Considering the number of national title games we've been to ever, I'd say it's a once in a lifetime event. I'd rather see us in the BCSCG than go to the super bowl.

let's say you paid $700 for your ticket. Someone offers you 11K - what do you do?

it would take an embarrassingly high amount of money to make me not go.

Would this be a stupid decision? Absolutely.
