What would you consider a successful weekend at Hawaii....

I would be pretty good if we split with Hawaii. I don't know much about their team, but with the distractions that can happen when playing at Hawaii and the first road series of the year I would be happy with going 2-2. If we go 3-1 I would be ecstatic, and I just think it would be too hard to think we will win 4 straight against them. The only reason I say I would be happy with 2-2 is because I am still not overly optimistic even after a 7-1 start. We should learn a lot about this team after this weekend.

I would like 3 and 1, but a split puts us at 10 and 3 overall, depending on the Nicholls State forfeit of course, but i would still be happy with a split. 4 games in 4 days can be tough, but I think our bats will show up like they have most every game. Ive been pleasantly surprised with how this team executes offensively when we really need a big run. We play small ball, get a clutch or hit a home run almost every time we need to. I think 4 is out of the question, but I think 3 and 1 is a good goal for this team.

I doubt either team can sweep all 4 games. Should be a pretty evenly matched series.</p>

It would be great to get 3 out of 4, but I don't think it's likely. Winning two will still have us a nice overall record going into the tougher part of our schedule.

They are sitting on a 3-5 overall record going into this weekend's series. They lost 3 out of 4 against UC Irvine at home, split with Minnesota at Minnesota, won against Washington, lost one against UC Santa Barbara (the Minnesota, Washington, and UCSB games were part of the Dairy Queen Classic in Minnesota). So they have played some pretty good competition. They average about 4 runs a game and on average give up a little less than 5 runs a game. Their RPI is 121with their SOS being 84 in this early part of the season (our current RPI is 46, one behind OM at 45, due to the fact our opponents haven't been that good). They have only played 4 games at home this season, only winning one of them . The capacity at their stadium, Les Murakami Satdium, is only 4,312. The dimensions are 325 in left and right and 385 in center field. The only have two players hitting over .300 so far this season. Their 3B Vinnie Catricala is batting .357 with 1 HR and 7 RBIs, and IF Shane Hoey is batting .333 with 2 RBIs. The next batter, by average, is .271, and they then just fall off. So they seem have problems swinging the bat, and hopefully that continues this weekend. Their first three weekend guys will probably be (1-1) 6'0" Senior Jayson Kramer, (1-1) 6'5" Freshman Matt Sisto, and (0-1) 6'0" Junior Nate Klein.

like it apparently does Cohen that we are trying to squeeze in 6 games in 7 days along with a ton of travel before a Wednesday DH leading up to our first conference series---the DH before the first conference weekend is probably most bothersome. Not ideal.

...great weather for the long ball & pitching arms & playing a mediocre team in Hawaii.

2-2 will be a disappointment in my book.

I know if I went to Hawaii at their age, playing baseball would be the last thing in the world I would want to do. I mean, you got to let them have some fun out there because jeez I still have never been to Hawaii. They better enjoy it.

Huh? Why don't you do a little research on the team before posting? Seriously though, do you have any photos of them out at local clubs?

I'd have sadly been more concerned with whether or not the infield was going to be smooth so as to not give bad hops and if we were going to be able to sneak beer into the room for a late night game of boo-ray.
