What would you rather have? A Heisman winner or

or a 5th place finish next year without winning the West? Personally, I think having a Heisman winner would give the program more long term swagger than finishing just outside of "final 4" eligibility. People seem to forget about the 5th to 10th ranked teams but remember the Heisman winner.

What scenario do you think would benefit MSU the most in the long run?

5th place finish. That would mean we won the Orange Bowl and that's something people generally do remember.

Heisman. Just imagine how salty OM fans would be. And realistically it should help us to recruit and land an elite QB on the future

They're damn near mutually inclusive. I just did a quick search for the last 12 years and RGIII has been the only Heisman winner in that time frame to be on a team that didn't finish within the top 5.

I say Heisman winner. If you think about it, for a state player to win the Heisman, we are probably going to need to be undefeated or once defeated which means we would be in the playoffs anyway…so we would actually finish better than 5th more than likely.
