Mullen will come away looking pretty clean and upstanding

Right Reverend Beaver will look: bitchy, whiney, petty, arrogant, and most damning....unchristian.

He may sign an awesome class, but the pubic (sorry couldn't help) arena he's garbage and all the OM ***** know it.

Then after he loses 3 more to State, the Bear fans will say "we never liked him anyway" (like they did with Cutcliffe, Orergon, Nutt, blah blah blah)...

Mullen looks like. Haven't seen him on tv all day. Meanwhile, Freezus is being interviewed on some network or the other every five minutes. The reporters are fawning all over him.

I disagree. I'm actually a pretty big fan of Freeze. I do think there is plenty of sleazy ******** going on in that football program regarding recruiting, but I don't know that Freeze himself is behind any of it. Their boosters will go to great lengths, and I'm sure he has a 'head in sand' attitude towards it.

First of all....

I'm not going to sit here and pretend that you didn't land a great class...you did.

However, for everyone of those links you just posted, I can find twice as many questioning the tactics used.

he would allow the "network" to do their behind the scenes work without interference. I mean he was already there during the Orgeron timeframe and well known to Rebel boosters from his Memphis days before that. The hire was made with a specific purpose because no way were they going to hire a true outsider who might come in and actually shut down the shenanigans. No HC with any sense is BEHIND the stuff that goes on but you can rest assure they are all fully aware of it. Boosters don't do stuff without a wink and a nod approval from the coaching staff because most boosters don't want to risk being cut off from the program.

Doesn't matter - new NCAA rule, and all. It's all on the head coach now.

Ok, go ahead....

Please go ahead and find twice as many articles from actual news sites like the ones just linked not a blog from maroon&white.com that go on and on about how Ole Miss cheats.

I know from watching ESPN and ESPNU and from what I can expect on ESPN tonight, the overwhelming perception of Ole Miss will be positive. If you actually don't think the amount of free publicity that Ole Miss has received today is not a good thing and that Ole Miss is being mentioned in the same breath as Bama, Florida, OSU, and Notre Dame all day, with a recap every 30 minutes where they say the same thing over and over is making Freeze look great, you have your head in the sand.

Look, if the roles were reversed and ESPN was fluffing Mullen all day and he was on the TV every 30 minutes talking about TSUN and Our State and grinding, I would have turned the TV off and been pissed. I've gotten texts from several MSU buddies telling me that ESPN sucks and that they can't turn it on without them saying something positive about Ole Miss.

Only problem I see with Freeze is that he is talked about by recruits as their 'buddy'. Could be good or bad, but I'm interested to see how he handles the egos of these players, and if he keeps team chemistry up. He may do very well, who knows.

So he is UM's Gene Chizik? The question is will the NCAA care if Ole Miss has a Gene Chizik when they didn't care about Auburn having one...

Come on Goat. Freeze was pretty much hired by touhy and the memphis area boosters for one reason. Of course he doesn't mention money, women, etc. to the recruits, but he knows what is going on and if you aren't willing to go along with the plan up there, then you won't be coaching there. They know they can't offer the things that alabama, florida, and lsu's of the world can offer but their pride won't allow them to accept that. They have decided to go for broke and they brought in a "super christian" who happens to be a "super recruiter" to be a front for their activities. You could see this **** coming when he was hired. You will never convince me that the goofiest head coach in college football is the worlds greatest recruiter.

I know my rebneck buds on FB were pretty pissed about all the claims of cheating from the national recruiting folks. Guess they were making that stuff up.

You go ahead and keep disrespecting him. The facts are, he's a very likable guy and proving that he can coach a little. I was actually hoping that their egos would make them pass him over when they hired him, but instead they made the smart hire. I've never heard the man utter a negative word or run any smack. Not that smack talking isn't a fun thing sometimes, but I respect a guy who stays above all that.

He may or may not know about the sleaze going on. He also may be the typical Ole Misser who puts on a great front while hiding something (Tuohy's). But I haven't seen it from him yet. It's almost like he's one of the very few grounded Ole Miss folks out there. I'm sure they'll turn on him at some point too. He'd be smart to win them 9-10 years then jump on the first money train out of Oxford.

Maybe the smartest post I've seen today, but then I see some good posts from you, Jemmye. I gave you some grief about something a few weeks ago and kind of wrote you off, but since then I changed my mind. Sorry that I gave you crap. Good luck to the Bulldogs except in The Egg Bowl.

Seems to me Freeze is getting a lot of credit for work he didn't do. The recruits themselves seemed to have a significant influence on the haul. The everyday fans mobilized too. There is a 60+ year old woman I work with who opened a twitter account just to be a "follower" for the recruits. "Everyone is doing it" she said. If they asked for a RT, they got thousands. Call it stroking their egos or whatever, but all those recruits apparently felt they were rock stars. And the whole thing was as planned and orchestrated as a military campaign. We'd do well to adopt some of that--get recruits involved in crootin; get fans to work the social media angle. ANd we need our AD to NOT say kids that like to party (i.e., get together and have fun) won't fit in at MSU.

This!!^^^^ Freezus is one giant pawn. Nobody really respects him or fears him in that locker room. It's only a matter of time for the chicken's body to run off with no head attached. Freezus is Chizik 2.0. Give his program some time and let the SEC defenses plan against him as he loses a couple assistants and you'll see the train wreck on the horizon. Freeze is so new he hasn't dealt with any adversity yet. It was all sunshine and smiles for Chizik at the start too and Cheesedick won a 17ing NC barely over 2 years ago.

Not in the business of taking compliments from rebels just because I spoke well of your coach. I still don't have much respect for your overall football program and its main boosters, right now. But I don't really respect ours yet, either.

Come back later when you and I don't agree, and see if you still like me then. I call it like it is, even with the MSU homers.

Trying to make him out to be a man of character is not going to work.

The fact is, the head coach might not be actually paying these players or showing them the way to "rogue" boosters, but he has the power to put a stop to it. If you look af Freeze and his program, you see a whiney little ***** that can't even deal with the fact that national media has been all over him. He's the typical Ole Miss guy. He puts on a beautiful front, but inside he is a self centered, hypocrtitical, insecure *****. They won't be good next year and they will never have a class like this again. When the NCAA gets involved recruits will hear about it and Ole Miss will be another dot on the map. Just like Memphis and UAB

I'm not going to waste my time and humor you by digging through all the articles i've read today.

I never said this wasn't good exposure for Ole Miss. I'm pretty realistic when it comes to all of this, unlike many here. I am aware that the free publicity that you got today from this was great for you. Why the hell wouldn't they speak well of Ole Miss today? Freeze just signed a top 5 class, of course they are going to cover that. Do I think Ole Miss cheated to achieve this? I'm sure they bent the rules that they could...just like everyone else. But I do not think they were giving out handfuls of cash. I think it simply amounted to them having the stars align in this recruting cycle.

Now, are you realistic enough to admit that there is a considerable amount of skeptics out there regarding your class? Are you able to remove the red and blue glasses and understand that people are going to start making even more assumptions regarding how you achieved this?

I get into it with plenty of Ole Miss idiots........lol. Nothing wrong with you calling it like you see it....as I do, and if we don't agree, then we can agree to disagree. That's what I do if allowed to do so.

One thing I won't do is sling crap on another school's Board. I just don't think that is right.
