Washington was one of the worst teams in college football this year with absolutely no talent, but you may be right about future recruiting.
Washington. PAC-10 defenses are much easier to exploit (except USC) than what you have to face in the SEC every week. Also, he has a chance to really grab the state of Washington by the balls since Wazzu sucks so much right now as well. Compare that to Alabama where 'Bama looks like they are going to have the whole state on lock-down pretty soon.
If I were him, I would go to Washington. Huge cities like Seattle and Portland nearby. No where to go but up, and UW could probably pay him more. It's also less stressful as far as pressure.

...for a college football coach to choose between a middle-of-the-road PAC-10 program & a top tier SEC program is like going to a car lot & having to choose between the Buick LaSabre and the Maserati.
...Saying Washington has 4 NC's is like saying Ole Miss is 11th all time in bowl wins: While both may be true, neither fact has any bearing on how modern day college football powehouses are perceived.

Washington Prolly... I mean Auburn is way to quick to fire people, and Washignton does have some money... and less stiff competition.
