I'm sick of everything these days out of Washington (and NYC) these days; Trump making Barron look like the only mature man in his household by being pissed off at everything and everybody that doesn't fall obediently in line with his latest Tweet (or moan job).....and his enemy (which it's really beginning to look like) media clearly going out of its way to put whatever negative spin they can on whatever comes from his dais, his office, his keyboard, or his Staff. After 3 weeks, it's already old and beyond increasingly out of hand.

Hence there's really no place for a guy like me to turn these days (and no, FNN isn't an alternative). Is my only recourse to give up "news" (whatever that means these days) altogether ??

I've mostly given up national news and did so many years ago. I enjoy local politics and local news much more these days. Both radio talk shows I listen to are split pretty evenly between local and national topics.

Cool, my advice is to do what I do. Trump is an idiot. Narcissistic. Incapable of self control. It happens so much, I am immune to it now.

I focus instead ONLY on policy. If you like his policies, give him credit. If you don't lambaste him. Words matter little, actions much more important.

Foreign policy is different and I hope he listens to Tillerson and Mad Dog and tempers his words. I doubt he will and there is something to be said for being completely unpredictable in foreign policy, but again I hope he listens. I actually don't mind his Putin comments. We need to work with Russia if possible to defeat ISIS. Trump knows that so he leaves the door open a bit. Bush did it. Obama did it. Nothing new.

So you voted for an idiot rather than a corrupt politician? Or you voted for an idiot because your party told you to?

I gave up watching the national news channels during the election. I get all the news I need from the net, local news outlets and best of all....this board.

I swore the other night I was going to stop watching the news and stop paying attention to social media when it comes to politics, and just focus on WVU basketball.... then we lost to Oklahoma State.

Boom, didn't you read my post? You are a teacher, right? I voted for which policies I preferred, pure and simple.

This may be the best thing I've ever seen you post on here.

I feel much the same way, I just hate the guy and every time he opens his mouth (or keyboard) it gets more embarrassing. If he would just stick to the policies put forth I think we would be better able to evaluate what they exactly are. But he clouds his own agenda by going off kilter with bizarre statement and ridiculous tweets.

You ever think that might be purposeful. Posting the lemmings jumping off the cliff was very intentional. The Dems are crying wolf over every little thing. We're becoming immune to it, such as with DeVos. But it keeps on every day. So in 6 months when he does start making major changes, the Dems are still crying everyday, but guess what? Noone cares.

He needs an adult to take over his twitter account. I understand why he uses it, to get around the media in which he has ZERO trust. But many of his tweets are asinine. He gets into the personal rather than sticking to policy. Ridiculous.

But I am convinced he is too arrogant to get the help he needs in this area.

Possibly, but there is always the potential back-fire if this is really his tactic. Suppose he loses support from his mainstream supporters because of it? Then we've got another 4 years of nothing but gridlock and worse because he won't be able to back-track. His crap will get even worse then.

He makes a valid point. The early, jumping the gun, Hysteria will eventually put people off enough that when there is a real reason for concern they may not care as much. The boy that cries wolf.
Same was said of the GOP and Obama. If we use history as a judge, the public will tire of the President and the GOP before they tire of the party in the minority.

How good are those policies when an idiot is in charge of enacting them, and ensuring their success?

I'm just really appalled at someone going into the voting booth and actually casting their vote for an IDIOT! What does that say about you and your respect of the Oval Office?

Boom, the President does not enact policies into law on his own. Generally, they go through Congress. Obama didn't and used his pen and phone. Now, systematically, they are being destroyed.

Let's look at his proposals:

1. Cut taxes on individuals, popular
2. Cut taxes on businesses, popular
3. Fix/replace Obamacare, popular
4. Repatriation of overseas profits to help pay for infrastructure, popular
5. Focus on creating American jobs, hugely popular
6. Border security, popular
7. Immigration control, popular
8. Infrastructure spending, popular
9. Education choice, popular
10. Crime reduction, popular.

He has the right ideas. Now implementation is key.

Takes more than an idiot to implement those policies in DC. Oh, and I think there are other things the President has to do in the course of a day....stuff that has to do with global politics, national security, domestic threats to our systems, appointing people that know how to run complex and vital apparatuses of State, managing all facets of the federal government to maximize cohesion and effectiveness, reading, evaluating, and understanding briefs and using that information to ensure the safety and prosperity of the nation. No problem for an idiot though....he's got a good brain....and everyone else around him will tell him what to do, right?

You don't think Trump is crying wolf with the constant fear and peril while blaming anyone he can for "attacks" that haven't happened?

PATX, that is exactly my earlier point. If it were these policies and DJT came out and said, for example; "I want to get the ball rolling on introducing legislation in (insert policy area) and this EO is the first step to that end. As such, I am preparing legislation to address (enter some specifics here) and I have assembled a team (some details please) to craft that legislation to be brought to Congress." I WOULD BE ABSO-FRIKIN-LUTELY THRILLED. Then we could judge each policy based on its merits.

But instead we've got "so-called judges", "Nordstrom was mean to my daughter", and on and on and on... I mean, how are we supposed to judge the validity of any of the policies without any details and childish rhetoric as the only validation; "because I said so."?

I won't get into any specific policy, because on their face no one would be against most of them (the healthcare issue is testy and you forgot the reduction in regulation), but without details and with only childish whining how would anyone be able to evaluate the direction of POTUS?

People will always recognize crazy, no matter how many times a day it gets pointed out and no matter how many months it gets pointed out. Crazy will always be crazy.
