I didnt get to watch the game- just the highlights...I had thought Jefferson's run was on 1st down. However, if you choose to run the ball like they did on 2nd down, you have pretty much guaranteed that you are only going to get off one more play anyway by the time the officials get the ball spotted and ready for play.

Once aGAIN, i'm not saying mistakes werent made. I am simply pointing out that there is a huge disconnect between him and Crowton.

you're stupid. You prove it with nearly every post. Hell, you're analogy shows it as well- Gus Malzaln and Mark Hudspeth have done ok after clipping their hang nails.

There is not much difference in me or Les Koenning calling Doubles Right, Z motion, 24 veer...it's the same play, same formation, same blocking rules, and same read for the QB. And I can assure you, my offense was better than what Sylvester Crooms put on the field for 5 years.

is that, as I pointed out, Mississippi has had more higher rated draft picks than LSU? Would you like to also research how much more often those higher picks make it in the NFL as opposed to lower picks?

You guys had alot of talent the last 2 seasons, and that's why you won. This year, LSU has more talent. And they are going to win.

I was about to call out that 4k number but you beat me to it.

Have you ever been to a 5A or 4A HS game? I know we had as many as 5-6K tickets sold for some of them, I just used 4K as a normal number.

just because all daddy could set you up with is a job getting coffee and washing the CEO's car in Dallas. Keep your mouth shut and do a good job and eventually you will move up.

of my time in coaching was in the MPSA

Some people seem to forget our WR's coach spent time coaching 1A academy ball AFTER spending time coaching college football

I mean, why was UT changing personnel on defense with five seconds left? Just let the clock run out. They had to have seen that there was mass confusion on LSU's part. Just leave the personnel that is on the field out there and just make sure everyone is covered with somebody. Even if it is a LB on a WR- they only have to cover them over 11 yards anyway.

I think Miles may be dumb, but he is extraordinarily lucky. He is lucky that he has LSU's talent to put him in a position to pull half of this crap off. A few years ago he pulled off what essentially was a hail Mary on Auburn when Tuberville was there when all they had to do was play for a FG. I hate to bring this up, but he is lucky we didn't give the ball to AD to beat him two years ago. He is lucky that he won a NC with two losses. And he's lucky that LSU didn't fire his *** after spiking the ball against Ole Miss. And now this.

I can not believe that a coach at a SEC school can possibly be as incompetent as Les Miles, and keep pulling these miracle wins out of his *** on a seemingly weekly basis. OK, I mean, Croom did it ONE year. Miles does it every freaking year. Bottom line, he doesn't know how to manage the clock and seems to have absolutely no clue about it. He can't even tell reporters what happened after another miracle happens, or at least what he does tell them makes absolutely zero sense. He always seems to think he can run 5 plays in 7 seconds- at least one being a running play.

I just sat here watching the guys on ESPN talking about the same thing. That's why I even brought it up. Miles even talked mentioned it in his postgame press conference.

I agree he is an idiot for not having the situation straight before he gets in that position. But it's not like he is standing there with Down Syndrome unable to make a decision- the problems he is having between him and Crowton is causing alot of it. And it's up to Miles to fix it.
then there's no way in hell you can doubt that the guy is a complete and utter freaking moron.if you disagree, then you, yourself, are the moron.

allow me to school you for what? The 787th time?

A better analogy would have been for you to compare a surgeon to a resident because a college OC and a HS OC are doing the exact same job- just on different levels. And just because one person is a surgeon and one is a resident studying to be a surgeon, it doesnt mean that one necessarily knows more than the other or even has as much talent as the other.

There are some surgeons that are just a step above everybody. (Nick Saban)
There are people that become surgeons that are nowhere as skilled as other surgeons. (Sylvester Crooms vs a Dan Mullen)
There are residents that have way more talent than the surgeons teaching them, but they just have to bide their time until they finish their curriculum (Mark Hudspeth, Gus Malzaln)
There are residents that are very average and are going to be average surgeons (alot of juco coaches fall in this category)
And there are residents that forego becoming a surgeon for various reasons and decide to enter another field of interest such as research, technology development, teaching, or administration. (Coach34)

You're welcome for the lesson...now shut up and go get your boss some coffee and think about what I said.

I'm finally starting to figure this out. Even my high school team had a mentally handicapped honorary "coach" when I played.....hmmmm....starting to make sense now. No wonder you were so excited to be "invited" to stand on the sidelines during a random meaningless HS game. Good for you little fella! Good for you!

The execution was terrible, but he had to try to react to LSU's mass substitutions. He couldn't know that LSU wouldn't get another play off. 99% of the teams incollege footballcould have gotten another play off in that situation. And if he'd been stuck with 6 DBs while LSU was in a power formation, he would have been screwed. Just like he'd have been screwed if he'd been stuck with 3 DBs while LSU came out with 5 wides. He HAD to try to react to what Miles did. I'm no Dooley fan. I think he's way overrated as a coach. But I can't really fault him too much for this.

You hit the nail on the head. There are some pretty bizarre rumors going around Louisiana about Less - one of them being he had some kind of undisclosed aneurysm while at Ok State. And that one was making the rounds BEFORE last weeks debacle.<div>

Wait...Coach said that? I must not have been paying attention that day. That's classic.

Even before Saban went on this recent run, he was better than just about everyone out there. Now he's proven that there is no coach in the country that can hold his jock. Name me a coach you think is great, and I'll tell you he's nowhere near Saban.

Les Miles, as a coach, in my opinion ranks in the lower half of the SEC.

Saban, Meyer, Spurrier, Richt (even though he's about to get fired), Nutt, Mullen, Chizik, and Petrino are all better coaches than him in no particular order. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt over Caldwell since he's an OL coach serving in interim capacity. Dooley out-dumbed him this past weekend, but the jury is still out on Dooley and Joker Phillips.

The only thing that saves Les Miles is that he's sitting on one of the easiest recruiting jobs in the SEC. The only job that I think is easier for recruiting is Florida, and though they have more than twice the talent that Louisiana has, they still have to compete with other schools for that talent. Miles has no competition in most cases.

Yeah, two years ago Coach Radio was basically claiming Miles the better coach than Saban, he's obviously trying to avoid that now

Now he's putting himself in the same class of coach as Malzahn b/c he was a high school position coach and OC (more than likely a title he gave himself, since his head coach probably designed the schemes and called plays)

This is like comparing a kid that took piano lessons for a year to being able to play one of the hardest pieces of music out there as well as Beethoven, when that kid probably wouldn't be able to read the music. Notes are notes, right?

There are probably 50-100 guys that post on this board that have coached hs ball, and many more that read... do they mention it constantly to try and create an internet reputation so everyone will pay attention to them? It's sad, Coach Radio's life now revolves around name dropping to try and get cred on a message board so he can feel good about himself.
