Any guesses? Listening to Sharp and Benning today and they alluded to there being sone behind the scenes issues that will continue to hold the team back. Also said its soon going to become the worst kept secret. So for those in the know what are the issues? Is there still a bit of a Pelini divide in the locker room? Is there something else?

Some Pelini lovers still causing issues within the locker room. Luckily I believe all are seniors. Don't think it caused us any losses but I doubt it's helping.

Whatever nonsense comes out is just excuses. If we hear any rhetoric from current players about a Pelini divide, they should divide themselves off of the team. To be clear, I had no problem when some players were upset about their coach being fired, but if its carried to this point in the season, then its time for aggressive corrections in the lockeroom. I assume most of this kind of talk is fabricated. Losing breeds nonsense.

Either way, I know the Pelini talk is never going to stop on this or any other board, but sweet baby Jesus its tiring.

I really have no idea if there is or isn't Bo related issues in the locker room. I do know bo was a very strong personality in those kids lives good and bad. For some, especially seniors to not hold some sort of support for bo one way or another seems unlikely. I can see that causing some issues mentally for everyone.
Look at it this way for those who have had a step dad in your life. Did you respect him as much as your real dad? Did you listen to what he said? Or did you resent him a bit for "taking the place of your real dad". To many of the older guys bo was that father figure that was suddenly kicked out of their lives and replaced with a step dad aka coach.

Wouldn't surprise me Pelini was still talking to the players and putting ideas into their head. Would this be grounds to stop paying his buyout?

It is divided (for lack of a better term) for two reasons...
1. Some still love the old guy
2. Some are not sold on the new guy

Dont remember a similar issue after Frank or Callahan left the program. The fact Bo had two ex starters on his roster would also lend it self to meddling.

1. FHCBP is a firery guy, HCMR is not.
2. It's HCMR job to sell them on the culture and most importantly show results. He has not even come close to this and most likely the reason now the division within the locker room is really starting to come to the front.

Has he lost the team - if I had to guess and place a bet, I would say yes. A few things that I'm still blown away on.

a. So we stick with the best 5 offensive lineman, you have to be serious they are the best five......No way, no how.
b. I'm at a loss for words regarding the 50 yard bomb to set up their game winning touchdown. My dog could have easily drawn up a defense for that.

I spend alot of money for season tickets and frankly I want results and fully expected results.....I'm not a fair weather fan, but a life long Husker fan who expects us to play to our best abilities, be somewhat well coached and have a plan.....but unless things change rather quickly, there will be some empty seats towards the end of the year.

what would be grounds to stop his buyout? I'm surprised that the comments he made to the team after his firing couldn't be used as grounds to stop the buyout......

Went through this in college (basketball). The old and new players seldom mixed. Nothing intentional but it just did not work for a couple of years. I'm pretty sure it's going on here given the stark contrast in the old and new coach.

This is where our "team captains" should be able to come in, but that isn't happening. I honestly think it is just the world we live in today. Too many pre-madonna kids that have had everyone tell them how great they are, and have never had to deal with any sort of adversity. When something happens it shows.

What if one of the team captians is one of the problems? AKA Alex Lewis.

Nothing, he will be paid in full within the time frame designated.

There honestly aren't many kids around these days that are pre-Madonna. She's pretty old.

Did those seniors throw the ball on 3rd down? When only a run was needed...... This was just like the Giants game. Pros making stupid moves and mental errors compared to a Junior QB at NU.

T mart throwing lawn darts for 3 years plus and now this. This is really hard to watch this program go down so far.

Not sure if he was told to make sure you run the ball and not throw the ball. I hate to say a game came to one play but it really did.

Lewis should have never been on the team to begin with... that's on Pelini.

Riley's weak-lack of responsibility response to Lewis's outburst 2 weeks ago in front of the whole world... that's on Riley.

Failure heaped on top of failure.

This is the result.

I will say that I thought he should be on the team and what happened in Colorado shouldn't impact his career.

I discounted the information against him, not that he didn't do it, but the way it was portrayed probably wasn't 100% true. It was still a dumb thing to do and he still does dumb things so obviously he hasn't learned to keep that in check.

I'd sit him until he gets his act together.

So are some of these injuries guys tanking Riley on purpose??? Seems to be mostly D - which is where Bo spent most of his time and energy......ugh.....look MR and staff did a poor job this last week in managing the game and clock....no question. But even the best game manager out there would struggle if he has a split locker room and guys not on the same page.

Frankly unless we brought in a complete hard *** like Harbaugh....most new head coaches would have struggled this season due to the mess left in Bo's doghouse.

While the play call was on MR and DL, you do realize that if all players were buying into Riley then Saturday's game may not come down to one play. If there are seniors who are not buying in, it could still possibly be having an effect on game day performances.
