that you have seen live and was elated that you actually got to see them play.

My choice is Michael Vick. I saw him play and was amazed at how fast he was.

Peyton Manning. I don't go to many pro football games, but watching him dissect the Saints in the pre-season game in Jackson was well worth the other crap associated with the game.

College- Eric Moulds

High school- Bobo Brown at Madison Central.

Don Smith. If Don Smith would have played with anyone but Msu he would have been an AA. He was amazing to watch with little talent around him.

Thought I'd stir the pot with that one. I do think he was as good a RB as Bo Jackson.

...sitting in the grove and watching all the Herschel Who? buttons walking around. I was pretty young, but I still remember how unbelievably good he was and how in awe my Dad was watching him.

...just a little joke for the mods.

I will go with Hershel Walker also. Dad took me to the game in Starkville vs UGA in '82(I think 82). I was just a little kid but I remember well the hype of the game and excitement seeing Walker. I could not believe how big and fast he was.

A State player....I will go with Johnnie Cooks and John Bond. Listened to alot of the games on the radio back then....then we went to the Hall of Fame Bowl and got to slap hands with them as they walked off the field.

Speaking of Don Smith........I would love to have one of those "College Football's Best Kept Secret" posters. I have not seen one in 20 years.

Once a year he put on a clinic in the Superdome. I was there every time and I'm still amazed at some of the stuff he did.

Edit - I suck at replying.

...showing my age (I was just a little kid). He came to Alabama with unprecedented hype, or what passed as hype back in the sixties. Saw him against Ole Miss or State in Jackson.

Where's the love for Tony James? As I recall, nobody went to the bathroom or concession stand before he was about to field a kick.

Watching Tebow beat Ole Miss singlehandedly last season as linebackers kept bouncing off of him. Peyton Manning dissecting the Rebels in 1996 and the Saints in 2001.

A non-skill player: Alabama OT Chris Samuels. He absolutely dominated our DL in 1999 to the point that I started watching him instead of the ball for a quarter or two.

5'9" maybe and it was glaringly obvious how much better he was than anyone else on the field.

Oiler game as kid, Earl Campbell was pretty damn incredible to watch. I can also put Vince Young when he was at UT. Those are the two that come to mind.

Got to see the UM OSU game at the big house in 1991 when he did the Heisman pose after a punt return. Everytime he walked on the field the whole stadium stood up.

I saw the mid 90's Cowboys play the Redskins: Troy Aikman, Emmit Smith, Micheal Irvin, Deon Sanders (QUICK!)
4 Hall of Famers right there.

Darrell Green played for Washington, another Hall of Famer.

That day also stands out because I saw Bo Jackson in person on the sideline. Cadillac rushed for 5 or 6 TDs against us. Brown and Jacobs were equally impressive to watch. I remember thinking that all 3 guys looked like pro running backs.

That would be my list too....in addition to Patrick Willis and Deuce at times.

Dupree was actually my first thought.

Back when he was at his peak and you didn't feel cheesy buying/wearing "Say-Ow!" gear. Also Steve McNair, when he was healthy...

I remember watching the MSU-UGA game in Starkville. We were sitting in end zone seats. Every play I thought State had stopped him, only to look at the scoreboard and see that he gained 9 yards. I think he rushed for around 250 yards that day, and it seemed like he wasn't even breaking a sweat.

I'm glad I got to see him play when he was still at State and I was old enough to understand and follow football.

I'd never seen (and still haven't) a guy that was his size that was as nimble as he or could flat out run like he did.

What a physical specimen he was. It's a shame he was injured and his career was cut short...........
