What's the silliest thing you own or spend money on?

Fioptics TV and a data plan. Paying a monthly subscription to follow a 5-10 basketball team and getting all riled up on social media is crazy! But I love it.

I just picked up an absurd LEGO habit after building a bunch with my kids over Christmas.

This month, I snatched up a few big Technic sets for us -to be built throughout the year - before they were “retired” out of the blue. And it was an absurd amount to buy four sets of LEGO at once.

My wife's answer for me would be two items: Golf and Football tickets. Every damn time we argue about money, which is really not that often, never has been really, she never fails to bring up, "Well how much do you spend on golf??? And how much do you spend on football tickets???"

My answer is always the same,

A: I am not quitting golf; that is non negotiable, and
B: I have been a football fan and attending games since I was 7 years old, and I am not about to stop while UK has a five season bowl streak going.

Case closed and money well spent in my mind.

I have a near complete set of the old LJN WWF figures that sit in a tote in the closet. Thing is when I do get the complete set I will probably just sell, but do enjoy the hunt to get them all (at a reasonable price).

Silly ? depends on how you define it .. I drop 25-50 bucks on fishing lures , and I own 2 John boats and a 19 ft Deep v for the lakes .. those eat money. Then there is my craft beer fascination . 10-12 bucks a bottle routinely . And Shoes , damn i'm a sucker for shoes . Rockports and Under Armour .

A boat slip. I could trailer it when I want to get in the water, but it's way more convenient having it in a slip. That, and I'm the only one that knows how to back up a trailer, so it's a pain in the *** when we want to go boating. I also, don't have to hear my wife ***** about what a pain in the *** it is, which is worth the money I pay for the slip.

Nothing about that seems silly. Seems smart to me

They're a blast to drive - manual of course.

I rode in it a bunch but never got to drive it. My dad rarely took it out. If it was sunny he was worried the UV rays would dim the paint. If it was cloudy he was worried it would get dirty in the rain. He finally sold it around 2006 and it only had about 40,000 miles on it.

*note it may have been a 1990 as opposed to 1991. I really don't remember

Gibson RB-250 Mastertone Gold plated banjo........Vintage D-18 Martin Guitar, 1966 Fender Statocaster, W/Fender 4x12"speaker stack w/head, a sizeable flock of racing pigeons, a bass boat that only got out of the garage 2 times in the last 14 months. AND two of the most useless dogs on the face of the planet......

This is pretty similar to what I have.

This is an '89 300ZX.

He was right to not take it out when it rained but not b/c they get dirty. You could hit a deep puddle and vapor lock the engine but other than that, not a fun car on wet roads. Too easy to lose the *** end and spin out.

Not yet but thinking about a Bingo (5-in-line) pinball machine from the 60s/70s. A Silver Sails maybe.

Been wanting to own a pinball machine since I was a kid, just never pulled the trigger on it. The tic-tac-toe machine OXO was my favorite at Aladdin's in Fayette Mall back in the day.

Those cars were pretty cool. I was a muscle car guy and raced (still do) fox body mustangs. I wasn’t much on foreign cars but those 300s and Supra’s were game changers.

I am in the "Same Boat" and I just added a Power Boat Lift to the equation! 😁
