if Dana can't coach, what's that say for our previous WVU coaches? His teams have the top 2 highest scoring seasons ever at WVU. He has the biggest win in our history against a team that finished with 1 loss (the loss we gave them). He averages the same 7 wins our program has had for 30 years. Yet he does it against much better competition.

Actually the Clemson win was the most impressive. There was more talent on Clemson than Georgia or Oklahoma.

we beat Clemson by 37 points and beat Georgia by 3 points in a game we tried our hardest to give away. also, the SEC wasn't dominant back then like it is now, they really didn't start their run till '08.

I think the biggest issue with Dana is he needs to have better defenses to compete for the Big 12 title. He's always produced pretty good offenses with his Air Raid system. And I know the Big 12 is known more for its up tempo high powered offenses. But if you look at last year Oklahoma won the Big 12 because they were better on defense than anyone else in the Big 12 was.The sec has always been dominant . GetYa is right. Georgia wasn't ranked in the Top 5 as most, if not all, of the SEC Champions have been since then. Clemson's defense was horrible, and WVU's thrashing of it spelled the end for Clemson's D-Coordinator. The Oklahoma win was the best, despite the fact that the Sooners were missing at least a couple of defensive starters. One of the best jobs of motivating a team that had lost its head coach that you will ever see.
The OU win was a blessing and a curse for WVU. We won over Bradford and OU, but we had endure 3 seasons of Stewart.
Say what you will about Dana, but he never roll over and play dead when you have a top 5 team playing against ECU, and get shut out by a mid major.

Did I say anything about NFL talent? The SEC was not dominant during that time period. In 2003, an undefeated Auburn team with Jason Campbell, Cadillac Williams, and Ronnie Brown got left out of the NC game in favor of OU and USC, and part of that was because of perception of the SEC not being being up to snuff.
In 2005 you had a good but certainly not great UGA team with DJ Shockley at QB that won the league.

MSU, Ole Miss, UK, VU, and SC sucked as is the norm for them.

The Sec might not have been as dominant back in that era but it was still the best conference even in that day. LSU won a national championship back in those days and OU was no match for USC. A win against an SEC champion is more prestigious than a win over a Acc champion. Spurrier may have been gone at Florida but they had a better coach in Urban Meyer
Colorado: Your best argument is that Bowl Flop Bob's teams lost five BCS bowl games in a row, and the Fiesta vs. WVU was in the middle of this losing streak. However, Oklahoma had been playing very well down the stretch in 2007. Georgia was ranked #7 before the 1/2/06 Sugar Bowl, which is the lowest that an SEC Champ has been ranked for as long as I can remember.
