Either somebody was wearing his jersey..

...or he's on crutches and wearing one if those Velcro knee immobilizers.

If it was thought to be serious, he'd probably be in a hard cast I'd think...and we'd probably already know about it. Nothing at all about him out there in the twittersphere that I can see...

You can have a really jacked up knee sprain and be in a mobilizer.

My point was that you don't generally tear an ACL or something similarly major and be in an immobilizer and hanging out on the sidelines.

You can also have the lightest tweak and be held out for precautionary reasons. There were countless times that we had people on crutches, in boots, and in knee braces last year that were fine...

Again, I'm not saying he's fine -- and I'm not saying he's injured. I'm just trying to get ahead of people automatically assuming the worst...at least until we hear something official(if there's anything to hear)...

I don't think that an immobilizer tells you anything except something is going on. I messed up a knee and they had me in it from day one to hold it together until swelling went down before I even saw the ortho. Then I stayed in it to prevent re-injury until I got through some muscle stimulation and other rehab enough that I could ditch it.

I absolutely destroyed my knee to the point where it wasn't technically a 'knee' anymore. ACL and all the other CL's completely gone. Wore an immobilizer for the better part of a year - no plaster cast. Even stood the sidelines on crutches with it on.

Can't tell what the injury is one way or the other based solely on what he's got wrapped around his leg. Hopefully something minor.

Its being reported that Malcolm just has a bone bruise and is out for a week. Not supposed to miss much time. Looks like we dodged a bullet

Hmm...

Was put in a plaster cast for having cartilage rip out of the bone @ my knee and take a piece of bone with it for about 3 weeks -- and I experienced basically a full recovery within 5 weeks enough to be cleared for the end of fall baseball camp...

Guess it just depends on the doctors used and whatnot...

It is coming from multiple sources now that Malcolm bruised a knee -- and is out about a week...
My point was that our fans shouldn't get ahead of themselves based on the report until we heard more, and it looks like that part was correct.

And, yes, it does appear that I'm an idiot on the procedures of dealing with ACL tears...Sorry about that!
