I’ll start. Fish Creek in Door County. Just a great place to chill with family.
Bill fishing in the Sea of Cortez Mexico.
Watching my son catching a 314/lb Blue Marlin when he was 14.
St. Pete’s Beach at the Trade Winds - more than 40 years of going there as a kid and with my kids.
My in laws have a place on Magician. I’m the only Cubs fan and Rambler surrounded by Rita and MC guys. What Lake do you guys go to? Also, I think we’ve had this conversation before...

Went up there a lot years ago when my son was younger. Used to see more Mount Greenwood/Beverly people at mass up there then I would see when we got back home.
But for five years running went the the National Parks. Left report card pickup day. Would get parks pretty much to ourselves that first week before the mad hoards hit the parks. Yellowstone/Tetons was the best trip.
Another seemingly crazy summer vacation spot - Las Vegas gambling, thank God for air conditioned casinos and taxis.
I used to go to Vegas for a week at a time about 4 times a year before my daughter was born (>20 years ago). Almost every taxi driver would talk about how 120 degrees wasn't bad with no humidity.
I tried Reno one of those times after talking to a friend, don't ever make that mistake:
1) Reno is nothing like Vegas, it's more like going to a gambling boat in northern Illinois.
2) If geography is not your strength, I went to Reno in early to mid-March and Reno's climate is similar to the Chicago suburbs and all I brought were shorts and short sleeve shirts and it was snowing when I arrived. (See above, not like Vegas AT ALL.)
Vegas makes for a relatively cheap vacation unless you lose money at the tables. If you gamble quite a bit for a week they would comp you 3-4 nights stay and many of your meals. (At least they used to. I've heard that they have made the comps harder recently.)

When I was going to Vegas (early 1990's) everything was cheap except high priced restaurants. I have heard from numerous people that things are different now and significantly more expensive.
Although every gambler dreams of their big payday, the realistic stretch goal is to leave with all the money you came with and have fun doing it.
Mainly I enjoyed playing craps with some video poker and slots as a filler.
Lake Tahoe? No I never left the city of Reno. I'm not much of a sightseer or skier, but Lake Tahoe would have been a better trip than Reno.
I'm not sure what you meant there, and not because you used "persona non grata".
They shrink? I don't know how you guys walk around with those things.
I have been to all these places. I have to say really love Puerto Vallarta the best.
If relaxation was all I wanted to do I would agree. But I've gone into the city in Acapulco and enjoyed myself thoroughly. I've also spent a week pool and beach side which was fantastic too.
Cancun was fun as a college kid, but now balding with the greys in the beard it would probably be too much to handle

Has a special place in my heart. It’s where me and my wife went on our honeymoon. I spent some time at Senior Frogs.

Agree about Cancun. It’s for the kids. We went to Cozumel afterwards to chill and relax.
