Graveman in game 1

He is the only starter that has shown the ability to get past the 4th inning.

The other game or games should be pieced together with a collection of bullpen guys...Mitchell, Girodo, Bracewell, Holder.

If Pollo Starts game 2, go ahead and replace him in the 3rd inning BEFORE things get shaky. It seems that every team he starts against figures him out the second time thru their batting lineup.

No there's not a rule against it. It's just that this late into the season it's normally a bad idea to change a guys role altogether.

I'm not liking all of the ppl wanting to start pollo. He is a fly ball pitcher. Teams tend to elevate the ball against him. UVA has big power number. Tons of homeruns and a ridiculous slugging percentage. I would rather start more power pitchers than pollo. Fitts looked really good in the UCA game until Frazier happened. Regardless of who starts(save graveman) I say Cohen has to have a short leash with them.

Graveman - Ross in relief
Bracewell-Gentry in relief
Fitts- with Girodo in relief

I think the starters should come from this group and NOT include Pollo or Lindgren:
Bracewell
Fitts
Graveman
Girodo

I like the idea of having Graveman be more of a bullpen rest splitter and he pitch the middle game. My rotation looks like this:

Fitts or Girodo - Saturday (Ross Mitchell first out of pen)
Graveman - Sunday (hopefully he goes 7 and we get Holder to finish and go on to the CWS)
Bracewell or Girodo - Monday

I would not want to use Girodo and Ross Mitchell on the same day. I think those two should be separated, as they're the best two out of the pen who can go a decent amount of innings.

This is why I would hold Graveman until game 2 and go with Fitts in game 1, then Bracewell in game 3. We'll probably need our bullpen a lot when Graveman isn't pitching. So I want to split those 2 days up and hopefully give my bullpen a little rest on the in-between day.

I second this... Pollo is great at first, then always completely blows up around inning 4. Cohen always lets it go a little too long.

I think alot of y'all are gonna be disappointed. UVA is 33-0 against righties and only 17-10 against lefties. I will be surprised if lindgren doesn't start, and I don't see any way pollo doesn't start.

I agree with you on that. If Fitts starts I'd use Ross, but if Girodo happened to get the nod I'd go with Gentry first out of pen.

I'd do whatever I could to to get to Monday.

If it's throw a different guy each of 9 innings so be it.

If It all left LIndgren, Pollo, Girodo, Mitchell the right Holder 2/2/2/2/1.

Whatever it takes to scrape one of the first two.

Get to Monday and all kinds of things can happen.

This^.

We want to throw lefties at them if possible. I would be surprised if Pollo doesn't start game 1. Then Kendall in Game 2. And I'm expecting a lot of Ross and Girodo on Sat and Sun, and I think Lindgren starts the Monday game if we have one.

Pollo
Graveman
Lindgren

We will most likely have to scratch and claw to reach Monday. With a probably limited pen and VA's undefeated record vs righties AND our lack of run scoring.... Our best shot is to hope Lindgren finds his best **** and turn him loose.

Ross Mitchell Sat, Chad Girordo Sun and I won't need one for Monday cause we already won the first two.

Cohen is stupid as heck if he doesn't go Ross Mitchell-Girordo-Pollo.....

Bring in the rest for relief.

Cohen hinted this morning he would start Graveman friday but added he wasn't ready to commit.

Graveman is my saturday guy. We have to win the first game at their park in order to get this Super.

Either way you're going to see a lot of Girado and R. Mitchell this weekend. They're some of the nastiest lefties you're going to find and that's what we need to throw.
