WHC Week 1 Predictions and Power Rankings

Didn't see anyone start this so thought i would give it a go. Should be an exciting year in the WHC with new blood and old favorites.


Cherryville @ Avery- Avery could score in bunches last yeaer but must replace almost all of their skill players. they should do well vs Cherryville though.

Draughn @ Thomas Jefferson- This could be one of the better week 1 matchups. TJ has been very solid the past few years and Draughn could face a challenge. I think Draughn is a bit better but it could be a one score game

Erwin @ Mitchell- Mitchell has a stud WB and is always well coached and strong up front. This seems to be an Erwin team with a lot of unknowns after losing some key players. Erwin may keep it close for a while but Mitchell should roll late.

Tuscola @ Madison- Madison should pick up a conference win or 2 this season. If they can beat Tuscola it may be a year where they can sneak up on people and make some noise.

East Henderson @ Rosman- Rosman was one of the worst teams in the state last year and may not come close to winning a game this year either.

Chase @ Mountain Heritage- The speed of Chase versus the physicality of Heritage. Should be a dandy. The cougars have played teams with more speed many times in the 2A playoffs and have had some success. Look for this ne to come down to the last quarter with heritage winning on a 2 point conversion.

I have heard Chase has gotten a lot of talented transfers from their neighbor East Rutherford considering they are going without a varsity team this year. If the coaching staff at chase gets the team playing to the best of their abilities in the days leading up to Friday, I believe they can come away with a win 34-27

Still they lost too much skill production imo and its at MH. Going 27-21 MH in a good one

Going to the Hole with a talented, but unknown team will be a tough task, but Chase does have the ponies to win. This is probably the game of the week in the WHC, but TJ and Draughn should be a dandy also.
