Rushed to graduate in fall semester...I have no idea why...then walked in Spring '03.

Then lived like I was in college for another 3 years while not going to college with a bunch of people who were in college.

I took a semester off from UK in 96 and lived in JC. Close friend was asst baseball coach at ETSU at the time.

I liked the Tri Cities area. Still have family that lives down there. I was there during the 2 year run they had when they made some noise in the tournament. If you remember them they had a kid name Keith "Mister" Jennings who went on to play in the NBA. I had a Sociology class with him that he slept through most of the time. :joy:

The best part of that class was a chick that was on the Dance Team that sat next to me. She was smoking hot.

Calvin Talford was there with Jennings as well. He was from SWVA near my kin folk, he dominated BB in that part of the state. The Mini Dome was the first AstroTurf I ever stepped on, had to be 83/84ish.

My dad got his BA from there so we went over to a few games a year.

Hack- don’t want to derail this thread but saw in another thread the other day you talked about being heavily involved in F B. I’m not and never have been, but have a really good friend who until recently was a higher up for them. About 6 feet 7 or so. Always trading pocket knives, and likes his Makers. Figured you probably know him well.

My Dad more than me. I’ve likely met your tall friend, but likely in passing when in my high school and college years when my Dad took me to F B functions.

You damn right! Sure as hell ain’t no cake eater. [roll]All seriousness, I’m not a true west sider though. Been living here for over 20 yrs now. I frequent the St Joe Inn/tavern at least once a week.
I’m not a true West-Sider either, but I claim citizenship through my mom and her family, who grew up in St Philip.

During my USI days, and still occasionally, spent plenty of time in St. Philip (Yukon/St Philip Inn and Weinzapfels or Zaps). I'm not Catholic...so I don't really count around here :)

UK 81-86, B&E (before they called it Gatton).

Drs Officer (RIP), Haywood, Tierney, Mullineaux (RIP also IIRC), Born were all part of the fun back in the day.

Haggin, Greg Page and then kicked out of university housing due to party incident... followed by off campus housing of no significance.

Wasn't my fault.

Greg Page was a great place to live IMO.

Had a keg party at our apt one night and a guy jumped from our 2nd floor balcony... and snapped his arm on impact. Well... that drew a crowd lol.

Later THAT SAME NIGHT... the volleyball team invited us losers over to their apt (since we had the keg)... upon returning home... around 3 am... we found we had locked ourselves out.

Roommate says "I got this!" and proceeds to break the door off the door frame.

Our visit from the RA the next day did not go well... and UK declined to offer us housing for the next year.

That’s quite a back story thanks for sharing.

Ok thanks, but maybe you thought I meant football.

LOL!

Seriously, I knew you meant Farm Bureau, but that reminds me of a true story.

Me and a girlfriend 20 years ago had just finished the “dirty deed” and she told me all I thought about was sex.

I thought for a second and said, “I think about football a lot, too!”

Greg Page was a great place to live IMO.

In ‘84, I was at Centre, but had a first cousin at UK in the Greg Page apartments.

I borrowed his roommates ID to get into football and roundball games.

For the LSU FB home game, all my cousin had to drink was Diet Coke and rye. But he had lots of Diet Coke and rye.

So we get blasted and take a 50/50 mix in Diet Coke cans and sit in the upper deck . . . I’d always been intimidated by the upper deck until that night. I floated up and down those steep stairs!

Those apts. were pretty cool for the eighties.
