I think just about anybody that knows anything about football was saying the same thing....that said, it gave the Pats a chance to make it a game. Great game. Love it that they had to hand the trophy to Kraft and the Pats. Normally I root for the underdogs and as much as I disliked BB before, I was rooting for them to stick it to Goodell and the media.
and dont snap the ball with more than 5 seconds on the play clock.
You know, I DON'T really care of those two teams, but I DID kind of root for the Pats last night...was EVER anyone more sick than Goodell????
I guess even Super Bowl OCs out think themselves sometimes. Thought the same thing when the Pats tried the WR double pass and then the onside kick so early. The double pass really didn't hurt them because they converted then on 4th down but the early onside kick was almost the final blow. People need to go back and look at a couple of these plays the next time they want to criticize Langsdorf for calls at crunch time. IF the double pass or onside kick had succeeded most would have said they were brilliant.
I don't think it was as simple as "run the ball" - I think it was as simple as "get 2 yards" however you need to do it.
I have zero problem putting the game in my all-star QB and my all star wide receiver or running back catching it as that is their steady "run the ball" offense, but I did have a problem with a 5 or 7 step drop back leaving the D end unblocked. I'd run a play that they probably practiced for a 2 point conversion there. Pull out anything you need to get those 2 yards and worst case scenario, you punt after another 3 downs giving New England the ball on their own 20 (or worse) down 16 and probably around 5 minutes to play.

Sure it was. Run the ball using as much clock as possible then kick the field goal to make New England have to score twice with one of the scores being a TD. They were in field goal range already.
We're talking about two different situations. Sorry. I was saying when they had a 16 point lead and a 3rd and 2 around their own 40, they chose to drop back and pass, which led to the sack/fumble.
Agree 100% on the series when they were on the 25 yard line. Run, run, run, kick.
Why is everyone so hung up on this goodell thing?
Brady is the best ever and i love watching him. But he knowingly had those balls deflated. If you can seriously think otherwise you are either a biased pats fan or...i dunno. I thought the four gamer was appropriate for cheating.

And multiple other QBs in the league were doing the same thing including allegedly one of the teams that accused him of it. I don't deny that it looks bad, but IMO it was up to the NFL after the FIRST complaint to insure that no tampering was taking place. After watching the Super Bowl can you tell me that the ball inflation made any difference in how accurate Brady was? The whole deal was just a power play by Goodell. He knew damned well that other QBs were doing it and selectively decided to make an example of Brady and the Patriots. The RIGHT thing to do would have been to send out a memo telling all GMs, coaches and league QBs that there had been a complaint and that there will be spot checks during games of ball inflation and then what the penalties would be IF someobody was caught altering ball pressure. Instead he chose. THAT is the major problem the players have with Goodell is the uneven enforcement or rules and seemingly arbitrary punishments handed out.
Brady did it, he lied is *** off about it, and to Goodell's face, then for good measure he destroyed the evidence. The only victim in all this is the equipment guy that got tossed under the bus. Where is the outrage for that guy who was just following orders? Having said all that, Brady is the best QB ever and I love watching him play, but his good looks and lingerie model wife doesn't give him a pass for his part in that soap opera.

Andy everyone knew that multiple guys were doing it. You just send out the memo and tell them to knock it off or this is what we WILL DO instead of igniting the giant pissing match that clearly was not in the best interest of the NFL. Instead we got this arbitrary penalty from his highness Roger. Frankly I really am not a Patriots fan but Goodell clearly was grinding a personal axe here IMO. I also don't blame Brady for refusing to turn over his PRIVATE cell phone. For heaven's sake. Who among us would want Roger Goodell to have all of our phone records, phone numbers, address lists, emails, email addresses, private messages to girl friends, wives whatever? Yikes. Talk about an invasion of privacy. Screw Goodell.
