When does the SEC announce suspensions?

I was wondering what the odds are Slive was going to do anything on Dkemdiche's helmet to helmet hit on Mettenberger last Saturday. I had thought the deadline was noon Tuesday and if that is the case then I guess no action was taken.

Personally, I thought both hits deserved a 15-yard flag, but neither deserved a suspension.

I agree on the one that happened earlier in the season. I haven't seen the one on Mettenberger.

I am not even sure both should have been flagged...maybe the one by Dkemdiche

Saturday but I don't think either deserve (or deserved) a suspension. I was thinking it might happen because a player from a struggling school dared to get close to an elite team's QB's head. Now, if you intentionally try to put somebody out with a head shot that is one thing...but this crap on defenseless receivers and head shots where there is no way a defender and avoid that happening is just pathetic. Example 1 being that penalty called on the Arkansas player that hit our receiver Saturday. While I will take the 15 yard gift and not complain that was just a good football play. They are penalizing effort and that is going to start to cause players to try to think instead of just react and you are going to see teh quality of play go down as a result. Football is a violent contact sport played by men that are stronger than most of us can even conceive of being. You know the risk when you step out on the field.

Yeah. The call on the Arkansas DB was complete ********. He hit our receiver just below the shoulder with his shoulder. The call on Ndkemdiche was a facemask to facemask hit and that's always going to be a penalty, whether the defensive player means to or not. Concussions are very, very serious and you just can't take those kind of shots on a defenseless player. The call earlier in the season was pretty debatable as to whether or not it should have even been a flag.

has any player other than elston actually been

suspended by slive. i know ole miss folks have pointed out a bunch of helmet to helmet hits but i haven't seen any other suspensions after elston...did i just miss them?

Personally, I thought both hits deserved a 15-yard flag, but neither deserved a suspension.

Ole Miss seems to play better without their players......

they played their best game of the year last Saturday and had like 5 guys out or banged up.

Pretty sure at least one other player was suspended a week or 2 after Elston was. But they've completely ignored several hits that were way worse than that one. I still can't imagine why they suspended him.

I seem to have predicted it correctly when I said that the non suspension against the Bama player for the suplex against the Mizzou player would end the Slive hand picked suspensions. There was three before that in the first half of the season and 0 since.

Still can't believe that didn't get a multiple game suspension. In the NFL, that's 4 games with no questions asked.

Perhaps someone was referring to it, but actually Dkemdiche had two helmet to helmet hits in a matter of minutes on Metzenberger. Only the second one got called. If you replayed them, the hits were nearly identical. He leads with his helmet and hits them right on the chin strap in an upwards motion. I watched it multiple times. It appears to just be the way he tackles, so count on him doing it Saturday, if he plays.
