Flying out of LEX Thursday at 3:40pm and get into JAX at 7:08. Hoping to make it for the tail end of the welcome party for the team that starts at 7pm. They are showing the BB game after the party. Flying back home Saturday night after the game.
This is our plan as well, except for leaving Wednesday night. Hope to get to Asheville or ideally Spartanburg then roll in to Jax early afternoon on Thursday.
I'm not diving into any body of standing water in Florida. I'm not looking to get eaten.
I live near the Withlachoochee and the worst moment of my life was falling into a bunch of cotton mouths. Never got out of the water so fast in my life. Good thing I was young when it happened. Today I would be a dead man.The water in the springs and their immediate rivers are crystal clear, so you could likely see what's coming!
I tubed the Itchetucknee twice this year. I grew up swimming & snorkeling & kayaking most of the springs and rivers in North Central Florida, though there are a lot more alligators today than when I was young. I have to be careful golfing due to the big lizards in the water hazards.
Driving. I'm too cheap to fly to Florida. LolIf you are flying out of Louisville then we are on the same flight
Headed down Thursday!!I got to break the surprise today to my father and brother that I bought us tickets/hotel in Jacksonville.
We're heading down on the 30th. Can't wait.
What is best route from Lexington? Thru Atlanta or South Carolina?
Sadly, Atlanta traffic has been much better than usual the last week or so because schools are out and people are taking vacations. However, I live on the north side and am dreading driving all the way through on my trip to Jax on Friday morning.
It's a much prettier ride through the Carolinas anyway. We live in Louisville and as the crow flies, probably makes more sense to do the Nashville / Atlanta route, but doing the NC /SC to avoid any complications or slowdowns.
Same here. This will be my first time heading to Florida that way.We live in Louisville and as the crow flies, probably makes more sense to do the Nashville / Atlanta route, but doing the NC /SC to avoid any complications or slowdowns.

Sounds about right. You should make it in time for the pep rally at the Landings followed by the light boat parade down the St John'sDriving up on Friday, should be there by 5 p.m. for an overnight stay. What's the tailgate plans for an 11 a.m. game? Bloodymary's?

Living the life. Should be a fun weekend with a lot happeningHotel is in Southbank, so pep rally across river should be an easy do. Thinking maybe a boat ride to stadium on Saturday morning is something we can do as well.
Same here. This will be my first time heading to Florida that way.
I was also told to look at taking HWY 25 out of Corbin. It comes out just past Knoxville. Anyone know about that route?
