I am guessing the week before Christmas. It will start around Thanksgiving when schools announce they will stay remote the entire year.

A lot of momentum right now from the media and some vocal teachers that the schools need to remain closed thru at least Christmas Break, I think we see many K-12 and secondary schools change their planned course in the next 11 days..

Lets keep the kids home for an extended time now and make everyone go until Middle of July next year. See how many change their tune.

I will love to see their logic on this one especially since Texas, Florida and Arizona have hit a plateau in new cases which has been one of their main arguments.

Look. This school year is bleeped. Heck. The Minnesota Viking infectious control guy has contracted the virus.
And the Miami Marlins have contracted the virus. Not all. But a lot.
There is no good answer. Because there is nothing that can fully stop it. I’m not smart enough to fix it.

Yes. I think remote learning and no extracurriculars until the new year. Then all abbreviated seasons starting after Jan. 1st is how this goes.

My guess is if they go about the same timeline that fall sports likely will get pulled is about a month before games start so maybe mid to late October if the situation isn't any better. Unless the IHSA comes out with a definite final plan to get sports in this year, but as doom and gloom as it seems why rush to getting to final plan status, because the plan after that one is the plan none of us want again.

If they cancel IHSA basketball, the AAU game will explode.
I honestly wouldn't doubt if some of the AAU programs are pulling for the HS season to be cancelled. Hell, I'm starting to wonder if some of the sports specific training facilities aren't thinking the same thing. Especially when you have employees that are strongly against opening the schools and sports, yet will let you know when they get their "safe" training program up and running.
