Should the next announcer, whoever it may be, continue the "Wrap it in Maroon and White" saying?

ok, I'll go! I say no simply because that's what he's built his name on. I wouldn't mind seeing shirts made and things of that nature, but I think whoever the next person is should make a name for themselves by original means

It gives him more time to observe, compute, and comment. You'd still get the phrases and sharp comments that make you love him, but without the clutter of describing the action of the play.

Bad news. I've been listening to him for 50 or so years now.

Not sure I want to take on somebody else.

PS - yeah, I know.

"I don't even buy yellow bananas anymore"

But like any MSU QB, his best days are behind him. I love the guy, he's a legend.

But his days are numbered.

The next play-by-play guy should end each game with "Jesus, Jack! How in the hell did you describe almost 60 years of this ****? And we'll be back with the post-game show after this."

As long as they say something like: And in honor of our beloved Jack C., "you can wrap this one...."

It would be ok with me....

I say we let the next guy drink the whole time. We should never make anyone sit through what Jack has had to. Most men would be dead by now.

Hey diddle diddle, there's Tay Biddle!!!!

The best thing about Kellum is that you can tell whether Ole Miss is winning or not by the tone of his voice.

if we had a statue of Jack somewhere outside the stadium- probably in front of the M-Club with recordings of some of his classic calls like 1980 MSU/Bama, 1999 Egg Bowl, and maybe even some like the Sonic Drive of the Game back to Tupelo.

The Cardinals have done something similar for Jack Buck, who had his own "That's a winner!" catchphrase. I think it would be cool to retire Jack's mike at Scott Field and the Hump. (Another Cardinals/Jack Buck rip off, but cool nonetheless, and appropriate).
