When MSU hired Croom I was skeptical

Wondered on here why Bama turned him down twice and the six pack sheep had a field day. If Hatcher ends up being the choice, put me down in the skeptical category again. His bio reads EXACTLY like Hal Mumme's did when UK hired him. Fire away. Again.

I think before Hatcher or Hudspeth are hired by an SEC school they at least need to take an OC job at a big time BCS school first.

Do you trust Byrne? Do you believe that there has been a process of capable candidates being interviewed / eliminated? We are so afriad because we've been scarred from decades of LT. I'm not sure we (MSU fans that are not 106) have ever seen a real football coaching search- so we just start assuming it's gonna blow up in our face.

A couple of other things:
1. We speculate who the possibilities are- but we don't know

2. The only thing we have to go on is their Bios- which is important- but Byrne is getting a much better feel for what each guy is capable of than we are by reading resumes

And I will be a lot more skeptical than I was w/ Croom.
So you are going to be more skeptical with a Hatcher hire, who is a head coach and has a national championship under his belt or a hudspeth hire, who has a 79-20 record and has his team in the semi's this year over a CAREER assistant coach in the NFL, who hadn't coached in college for almost 20 yrs? That makes sense....

Did you miss the part of my post that said his bio looks EXACTLY like Hal Mumme's did when UK hired him? As in, he won a bunch of games and put up a bunch of gaudy offensive numbers at Valdosta State, too? Let that sink in for a minute before you start googling more numbers.

Sorry, but I can't get that excited about a guy who has spent one year in the SEC or any other BCS school. Unless the guy is a homerun, I'm going to be skeptical. Hatcher ain't a home run. More like a single and a throwing error. Also, most recruits are going to yawn at Hatcher's hiring.

I'm not what you would call a sheep, so forgive me if I don't put total blind faith in Boy Wonder.

that you have every right to be skeptical of anything MSU. Byrne has shown that things may change- excuse me for hoping that they do. Baaaaaaaa.

Mumme had some pretty good success at KY I thought. Seems like he won more there than most anybody up to that point.

I damn sure don't want another hire from someone out of big time college football. Hatcher might end up being the greatest coach ever but I'd be less than enthused.
